I used to play. I loved it, but like so many other things age creeps up on you, and I had to give it up.

A buch of my buddies and myself all bought our own equipment and played at a friends place. Most of the woods were on a hill side though, and as we got older and fatter some of us dropped out. It was either that or drop dead. . Now that I have the weight off I have thought about taking it up again as it would be a great way to exercise. Just need to find a flatter place to play

What do you have Asmodean? Before I sold all my stuff I had a GZ2000, and a Stingray semiauto. Both are now old and outdated, so you probably never heard of them.

One of the things that made the U.S. the world's greatest military powers was the fact that their boys learned to shoot while very young. Apparently it stays with you. Paintball, like aiming anti-aircraft missiles is quite similar.

I agree apunkjunkie. Paintball is nothing now like what it started out as, and I dont consider that a good thing. When we played we did it as capture the flag out in the woods and on hill sides. This required planning, strategy, stealth etc. Now when you watch tourney's, all they do is play on a flat area with a few barricades, slinging paint as fast as they can without aiming. Point and spray as I call it. This is not paintball at all IMO.

I am just getting into paintball for the first time. Over the past couple weeks, I've been trying to read up and understand the markers and how they work. Perhaps in a month, I'll buy one for myself.

The few times I played here in the states, it has always been short elimination rounds. I have yet to play in a good capture the flag, hostage, vip escort, or other type of game. I really look forward to doing that.

Any recommendations for a paintball marker?

The last time I played, I wore:

Rather than pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars for 'paintball' gear, I went to a local sports gear store and picked up:

http://www.hockeymonkey.com/koho-hg3340-sr.html Koho 3330 13"/30cm Hockey gloves

They are not quite as flexible as 'paintball' gloves, but they protect much, much better. They cover not only the fingers and back of hand, but all the way over the wrist. Much better than 'paintball' gloves.

Again, it's cheaper, better protection than paintball gear. It covers more of the body, and is just as light and flexible as paintball gear.

A few of my friends laughed at me in the morning. After we had played all day, I was the one laughing as they were comparing welts and cuts.
