New to the company

Well, like it says in the title. I'm new to the company. Before I was involved I did watch this website alot. Great content
At the moment I'm working with DizX to set up other companies. But in the back of my mind I thought this website has a lot more potential.

I'm particularly curious in the experiences and suggestions of the main crew and the timeline of this website. What has been tried and what has been a success or a failure?

My main goal for the next couple of weeks is simply put. To get more insight in the culture and the content of this website.

Hopefully you guys can help me to achieve this goal.

I've been here for almost 10 years and I've been a moderator nearly the entire time. The previous version of the site was MUCH more user friendly as far as picture moderating goes. Pic mods have to sort through a ton more crap than previously because the site doesn't seem to reject anything. I know Diz is working on some things in this department, so hopefully things will improve.

As far as potential...you're going to have to find something pretty unique to offer people because there's so much free stuff out there.

I've been both a member and a moderator on and off for about 5-6 years.

I quit being a mod the last time because I was frustrated. I was frustrated that there was a major hesitation to change things that I felt didn't work...namely the handling of what I felt was underage (or questionable) material. I felt that some mods were way too comfortable in their positions and unwilling to change their thinking, and when I felt they were not doing their jobs, they were angered when I did it for them, and called them out. Perhaps I could have been more tactful, but when I brought up the topic several times in The Office, participation was minimal in those threads. I also felt that input and direction from Diz was minimal, helping lead to unclear policies and how to handle those situations.

As for being a member. I'll tell you that I'm on the verge of deleting my account here, but the reason for that is not so simple to explain. In short...WBW is not the friendly place it used to be. I used to enjoy posting in the Lounge Spam thread, News stories (when we had them) and various topical and silly threads. Most of that is gone now, and whats left is a humourless, bitter forum. I don't know how you can fix that...I don't even know IF it can be fixed. Simply put...I don't enjoy the forums any more, and that primarily was the reason I visited the site. I honestly believe that making porn the focus of this forum, rather than its variety was and is the downfall. The members that are here mostly for porn, tend not to participate in non porn threads. Without the non porn aspect of the site, WBW is just another 1 of millions of porn sites out there...there is nothing special about it. Like Screwy above me said, unless you have something very unique to offer, you won't stand out in a sea of porn sites.

Simply put, usability. So many times when updated, the site takes weeks to get all functions to work properly. This causes frustration to members as well as mods.

SugarPie, please don't go. I've always looked forward to your forum postings......

Take the answers from screwy, Sugarpie and Demo and you have the 3 points I was talking to you by PM :
- bugs that are not fixed (see Demo's post)
- feature that mods are still awaiting for them to do their job efficiently (see screwy's post)
- features that the community would like + more focus on the community aspect rather than just the content part (see Sugarpie's post).

I had always a problem with the appreciation you get from the site....
Will try to explain what I mean ....
There is a user-level instored and when you have 12,5K of pictures accepted and a few comments you have level 38 , somebody who's got 0 pictures accepted or posted and 82K of comments ("nice butt" or "nice tits" mentionned is enough) gets level 57. It's more difficult to get a pictures accepted and only on comments you can get an awesome.Whithout pictures posted you have nothing to comment on.
Uploaders are also more often sanctioned than other site-users and when I look at the mods ,we're more than 10 who are picture-mods only and more than half of them didn't accepted or rejected a lot of pictures last year....
Nobody reads or respects the guidelines anymore and when you tell them to do so they get unrespectfull....
But at the end of it all I still enjoy to be a mod on this site

I think to make this the older fun forum disallow discussions and postings of the more serious elements of the news. It simply brings out the worst in everyone. When people have passionate opposing views everyone tends to forget to play nice.

This threads arn't also moderated enough it seems that moderators are afraid to tough in case they are seen as having a political view either way.
I think that's one element of what makes this place a less friendly place than before. IMO it hardly fits in the 'whatboyswant' world

The political forum brings bad things up in a lot of people. Think it is best if we got rid of it, and only keep it as archive.

Really doesn't matter to me. I came here originally to look at the women. Still looking at the women But some pictures bring out the worst in People too. Calling women fat and ugly. Insulting peoples wives and girlfriends. Seems that a certain % of porn lookers are low life's. Don't mind who's feelings they hurt. What it is really about is being a decent human being and using self control whether it involved looks at the pictures or participating in controversial topics. In reality some won't control themselves in real life and are worse in the internet world where they can be anon. That is why you have moderators and in real life--police

I only know a few moderators nowadays..
ive been a member for just over 10 years now, moderated for quite a while too..but now im only here for the pictures, only rarely do I make comments on them or post in the forums anymore. Too much drama around, too many 'know it alls' etc etc..

i think if you want to help this site get its shit back, you would need to bring the friendliness back. Might sound weird, but I remember years back alot of the lounge regulars would get on msn and chat for a while...people would get on board with new threads to help them get noticed, people would begin threads together with others to make them fun and get people participating.....anyways, im not here in the forums much anymore so i could be seeing it all wrong, but thats just my thoughts.

Thanks to all for your input. For the coming months we will be working with a usability expert to work towards a more community based and social WBW.

With regard to the political forums. It depends really. With good moderators you can tolerate it. Discussion = discussion. If you look at other forums like bodybuilding forums it seems it can go well

I won't be making any more threads in the Political forum until you all decide what you want to do and how you want to do it or if you want to keep it going. It was fun and entertaining for some of us but I don't want to cause any trouble for the owner(s) of this great forum who provide us all these pretty ladies to lust over

I always found it amusing how we go from the world is in dire straits blah blah it's all doom and gloom to phwoar look at them fun bags :p

Use ability functions still not fixed, just noticed today the search function for the forum doesn't work. And I truly can't believe how dead the forums are.

I've not been active for some time, yet over the past few weeks I've been trying to be. Work, life, 2 teenage boys at home keep me quite busy, so it is a sad time to see how far from any type of a community this site has become

Now this is going to sound fairly obvious, but bear with me. Surely the reason the forums are quieter these days are simply because there aren't as any many folk interested in posting non-porn stuff? Yes, I remember years ago when the community was more friendly/vocal but it was generally the same 10-15 members - it wasn't hundreds of people all having a great laugh and talking about how fantastic life was. It was a small clique who used the forums as a place to come and chat with friends, which was fine, but I also remember threads around that time about why that "clique" environment was a little off-putting to new members. So the site can never win it seems. Nowadays a fair number of those 10-15 have moved on or fallen silent, and they haven't been replaced. Most people who come here now are here for the porn element. Why try to force the website in a certain direction if there isn't the demand for it? And if there is a demand, why don't all these members just try creating a few threads in the forums and starting some conversations rather than moan about how things used to be?
If Diz and the mods wish to change the image to less of a porn-focus, then I would suggest changing the main page seeing as all that does is scream "this is a site full of naked women". If you do change the focus too much however, I think you'd see the amount of visits per day drop dramatically.

For 1, I'm not moaning about anything, simply stating an observation. And for 2, if people don't want to chat, I'm cool with that. I was simply stating a use ability function in this thread.

Hi everyone, I'm a everyday user of this site, I have not uploaded 1000's of pictures or commented on everything is see. I really enjoy this site for the porn aspect as it is not ridiculous as other porn sites and full of fake crap like some others. A big thank you to the guys for not having all this pop up crap on herethat to me is a huge bonus. As far as forums go, yes they have died down a lot over the past couple of months, I think that is because of some really rude, shameless, fake people that has joined the site and their comments or insulting people put people off from posting.
Yes I had one or two go's at people in the past on here about comments, (just as a user). Bottom line is that this site is GREAT. A small group of users on this site must just go back to basics of humanity and start respecting people and that counts for all off us using this site.

I think with some research to the users abusing other up loaders/contributors you will find that they has been here for years and is yet to post a picture of any kind. That is rather sad!! I would like to see other members comment on their up loads or contributions.

To the people contributing every day or week and to the girls posting pictures on here you are all awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

In terms of managing the site guys I think you all need to come to some sort of agreement/happy medium once that is in place it will eventually spill out all over the whole site.

This is just my humble opinion. please excuse if I spoke out of line. In general I adore what you all do.
