It's a classic comedy from the late 70's. It is hard to give hints on it that can not be googled pretty easy....hopefully this hint will not make it too easy.

I knew it. I didn't want to google to check for spelling cause I thought it would be cheating!
I've never seen the movie all the way through, but I till know that for some reason. C.H.U.D has been wtitten about a lot and the word Chud shows up everywhere. I think the voice over guy in the preview said Canabalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers real slow and creepie like, and it just stuck with me.
An old friend of mine worked at the new england cafe that the guy who wrote C.H.U.D. owned!
