Million Pound Footballers Giveaway!

the reason none of the chelski players donated any money was that they felt it was too political to get involved with a campaign to put pressure on the government to highlight the plight of nurses pay when where do you draw the line for who else should feel that they deserve a premiership players wage for a day.
All the players are involved with the clubs own charity of right to play where the club has just returned from a project in ghana and also projects in the community. They all also are included in charities which are important to themselves.
Its easy to throw stones at people in glass houses lobo!

It just goes to show some people have preassigned out look on everything and because a player plays in a Chelsea shirt he's evil. I think you'll find the only sweeping statement that can be made without looking a dickhead is all people that make sweeping statements are dickheads. Jose and John Terry are patrons of The Children's cancer trust (Evil Bastards they must be). Chelsea are also in Ghana this week and last season whist in America there were trips to a children's hospice to play with the kids.


Just as a aside I like to ask Lobo how much Wolves donated to the Nurses campaign as at the end of the documentary it said all premiership clubs donated something but didn't say anything about Championship sides. Also if Lobo could post a copy of his bank statement for May day showing 1 days wages paid to the nurses charity otherwise he'd be a 2 faced arsehole complaining about a group of people not doing something he hadn't done himself.

I used to donate to charity when i was working for the last 3years something called United Way (in Texas) They took money out of each pay cheque every week. At this very moment im unemployed and rather pennyless and not living in England at the minute...anyway...

And these nurses only asked premiership footballers - not championship ones - because they could get more money out of them...As i said before (if youd read this through this thread when Tarquin ripped into me) I admitted to jumping the gun too quickly without thinking, i did it in the heat of the moment...And as i also said (If you'd read through this read you'd no) If they had asked Wolves and our players said no i would have been equally pissed off!

So keep your nickers on.

i've donated to nurses quite a few times over the years not money obviously , however wasnt able to find a decent nurse to donate to on may 1st.

I think it's USA vs. Rest of the world. Because of that we call the real football, as football. What the hell is soccer anyway?

In our country we call your game as "American football", and your so called "soccer" is football to us. It's the same thing all over the Europe. And to me Rugby seems to have lots of common things with your "football" game. Isn't rugby invented in Britain?

Just because many premiership clubs have jumped on the bandwagon, it doesn't mean that other clubs are greedy bastards.

Most of you know I am a West Ham Fan, (the whole first team squad contributed to the nurses fund), but I kinda agree with BDD here. Most premiership footballers do contribute to charity. Just because John Terry, Ballack, Lampard etc haven't contributed to this personal charity, it doesn't mean they are greedy.

I pay a monthly direct debit to Cancer research. I also sponsor people etc, so I feel that I do my bit for charity. However, I know I can do more, but I am a bit sceptical that the money wont be used for what is advertised.

Maybe the chelsea players don't agree with this appeal. Maybe they feel, like I do, that football players shouldn't have to pay the nurses wages. maybe they feel that they have already contributed to the nurses wages by their 40% tax they pay every year.
