Indeed they do...

Would that not be one freaky way to go, by getting swallowed by a hole under your house as you slept

Cool, good to hear mate

Forums are up and down, some days busier than others...

Situation normal, maybe if some people could get outta the galleries more often, they might be busier

Sinkholes are pretty common in Florida. Usually in the north part of the state. We rarely see them in south Florida and rarely are they big enough to sink a whole house and kill somebody. I know when I lived in the Orlando area(where FeFe lives), I would see news stories about them fairly often. I guess when you build cities on top of a swamp, these types of things are bound to happen.

I think sinkholes would freak me out more than tornadoes, or earthquakes.

Been in an earthquake...wasn't major 4.7 or something...didn't even know it was happening. lol

Quick read on sinkholes and their dispersion around the great state of Florida. Marshes don't cause sinkholes, and you would have to see something like Wakulla Springs, where a 100' wide hole to nowhere simply produces a 100 yard wide river out of the midst of nothing. I mean you can take a river boat tour of the park and the river simply ends over this giant hole from which boils enough water to feed the river with a flow of about 5-8' depth and 2-3' per second. The amount of free flowing water in the form of underground rivers in the state of Florida is incredible.

Yeah, we don't have any underground springs in south Florida so that's probably why we don't have any sinkholes. I used to enjoy canoeing trips to wakaiva(sp?) springs when I lived in Orlando. Beautiful, crystal clear water.

That is not what a reciprocating saw was designed for, F1098.

Saw ? What saw Kanzen ?

Boys may use saws but girls use a different Hitachi product line. Buy one for your woman at your own risk. One afternoon with one of those and she may look at you in a different way.
