You know, I can't really watch football anymore.

I mean, I can, but it really doesn't entertain me. I just sit there and think about the CTE that handfuls of these guys are going to have in 10-15 years, and how they're basically just modern day turn-of-the-century coal miners or asbestos installers or whatever. It's barbaric and tragic, and millions of people sit down every week to watch it.

We've not evolved very much in the two millennia since the days Roman gladiators.

Indeed. It made me sad when I read about Dr. Omalu's initial attempts to get the NFL to recognize the problem, and how surprised he was at having the entire organization stonewall and ignore him.
