It's Official - Vista Sucks

Maybe even a couple. XP wasn't really on it's best behavior until service pack 2. And even that had to be modified a little to be right for me.

We all know that within a year vista will be the standard whether we like it or not. of course right now it's crap. I fix computers for a living and hate having to work on vista already (except for the getting paid part). Microsoft has the resources and the motivation to get vista to work the way it's supposed to and they will eventually. I have decided to let others do the work for microsoft, collecting failure information about vista that is. I'll upgrade when the first service pack comes out like the rest of the corporate world. by the way the gui for vista is very slick...

I really like Filevault..........more secure than Windows will ever be.

I have Vista Ultimate and my god you need a high end PC to run it, I have 2 Gig of RAM and still find it runs very slow. I am still waiting for decent software for my Creative X-fi Soundcard and one of the most annoying thing is when ever you want to open certain applications or delete anything you get this type of message.. "do you want to delete this ?" ( Yes, or i would not have pressed the button) "Are you sure you really want to delete this ? ".... (For F**k's sake, just let me get rid of it !!!). I would like to point out that i have this obsession for getting the latest version of Windoze as soon as it's released.. Where is my doctor, i need HELP !!!

I think it's funny that Mac and Linux users bash windows xp for having security problems, and then when Microsoft actually does something to address those issues they are being condescending.

As someone who works in the IT industry, it is not condescending to assume that the user can't manage. The average user is completly helpless. It's like they just wonder around clicking on random shit. Macs and Linux appears to be immune to attack, however the truth of the matter is that people that write viruses don't want to waste their time coding to harm the 2% of the population that aren't using Windows.

But I digress... I won't be upgrading to Vista for a while. I installed it on a separate partition on my work laptop for testing purposes, and everything seems to be working great. However, there are a few third party programs that I use at work that have not released compatability updates yet. I'm looking forward to it though.

I know what you mean there. Hey, I like Mac and Open Source in many ways especially for the same reasons you listed. But also, I agree with the hardcore Linux and Mac user observation...they sure love to freak out when someone brings up Windows.
