For that prize I bougth a similar pc but with a flat monitor...
However it's not a high prize, but you could find better price.

well...let me see
the total cost was 1065 euro
that included A4tech mouse and keyboard (optical mouse and multimedia keyboard, but cheap, because i sometimes i hit them, probably cause i'm a compulsive gamer), Xerox 17" Flat CRT monitor, 50W 5.1 mercury sound sistem.

I think that is a little overpriced. I did the equivalent (some parts weren't avaialable so I picked the closest, highest rated with equivalent specs) from NewEgg for $750 US ($584 Euro). Personally, for that much I would be doing a dual core chip and a better video card.

not even looking at the price, the powersupply is to small. bump it up to a 550 at least for the p4 and all those fans. otherwise you will fry the system the first time you play a graphic intensive game.

i've actually played The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion at the maximum video settings and it performed very well.
i was amazed, especially cause i played it for almost 10 hours straight. Not to mention F.E.A.R. and other 3dshooters.
about the price, i got the best offer i could in my home town. i've actually went to ALL the suppliers.
otherwise it could have cost me around 1500 euro at least. but then again, i hate my country :P
no i don't, but we have stupidly steep prices, and you don't wanna know about the paychecks.

the medium wager is about 200$/month, and i live in a 119.000 inhabitants city.
to get better prices (not by much), i would have had to go to Bucharest (capital city - 2.000.000 inhabitants), 400 km away, and saved maybe 150 $. The trip really wasn't worth it, gas alone.

anyway, thanks for the advice guys, and i'll try to get that 550w powersupply as soon as i can.

man, it already beats the game's graphics, why get a better one?
i mean, it works with ALL options at the max. too bad my monitor can't support more than 1280*1024

If the graphics card will work fine with all settings to max don;t replace it now. Wait a few months till you've got a game you can;t max the options on.

No problem. You have to draw the line somewhere; computer components go out of date quick enough as it is without replacing them prematurely.

dude....
if you arent outright lying.... then you are fucking retarded

#1
you bought a .... well sorta nice mid range motherboard.... and then ignored all the sorta nice mid range things about it

like you skipped the dual channel ddr features and opted for one stick of twinmos ram
which is shitty ram regardless but anyway

then you put a micro atx board in a full atx case... (i wold imagine anyway... judging by the 6 fan slots.... and since i cant actually find a g-alantic case that has 6 fan slots from the factory i will assume its full atx)
also the board supports dual core...
but just because it supports it dosent mean you should use it.... no.... you opted for a single core prescott
way to go....

it also dosent seem you know what "maximum video settings" really means

since your monitor dosent support the max resolution of oblivion.... i would say you arent running at max settings...

also your system couldnt handle max draw, distant lands, or hdr in oblivion... well i guess it could at around 20fps
not to mention the nifty new partical system in fear that your video card dosent support

hell gamespot's benchmark of your card running oblivion at your max resolution with distant land turned off was only 18fps

and belive me... their system was alot better than yours

you bought (if you actually own this that is) an ok mid-range system... fucked up a few options but its ok none the less

you paid waaaay to much for it

but be proud of it i guess..... and stop lying about your performance

by max options i meant what options are given to me, and yes, HDR does work
the not getting a dual-core processor was not something i wanted, but unfortunately something i had to do, since i didn't have the money. the ram was chosen like this because in the very near future another 1Gb of ram will follow (same type), and it will be dual-channel
and about the prices, i found out afterwards that in romania prices are waaaaay higher than in other countries....something about taxes....don't really care....just wanted to sort things out.
sorry if i offended anyone, but i didn't count the framerate (don't really care), i just said the game works at those options.
maybe i can't see some of them because they are not available to me, but what options are there were maxed.
