A girlfriend of mine told me she would actually consider marrying a man who could buy her a specific car. And not, I'm not taking about a lexus or anything. This is quite an ordinary car for a relatively cheap price. It's just fucking sad! Ofcourse, if I had the money she'd be my wife by now, but that's besides the point.

Not in the same vein but...I knew an American merchant sailor guy who was 50 and he had been around the world and met virtually all it's women. He HATED American women, they were the bottom of the barrel to him because they had no sense of duty or loyalty to their men. So, through a Russian mail order bride mag, he met thsi woman. They met in Turkey and had a great 5 days together and kept writing for some time. She had an engineering degree and everything. Then he got cold feet because he didn't think he made enough to keep her happy here. He was rather poor. I said "Man you found a woman who is decent and who would be happy to be able to buy fresh milk off the shelves for once and who could hold her own as an engineer and you won't marry her because you think you're too poor?". So I guess they never hooked up.
