Have to start by telling you that I work in a private elderly home in Helsinki as a chef. The avarge age of our customers is 88 years old, the oldest customer is 103 years old and still going strong.

We had to day a birthday party to one of our customer turned 88 years, well he´s wish for birthday food was bratwurst with creamy potatoes etc. with beer and red wine to dessert we had ice cream coffe and blackberry liquor.

Everything whent fine at lunch and everybody had a good time.We who work there have allways, when we serve alcohol often wine, taken a glass wine with food as today too.
Afetr the lunch we had a little bet with one of the nurses, who can drink one bottle of beer fastes.
well we did it and I won, earned 5 euros

Well can you be as relaxed about having a glass wine when you work with out you have your boss on you?

Well, I'm not my own boss, but I have my own office and my boss hardly ever shows up. Occasionally some of my colleagues drop in to ask something or just have a chat. But all in all, I can be pretty relaxed at work, in fact if I fell asleep for an hour or two probably nobody would notice
I had alcohol before but it really screws my productivity so I usually refrain from having some while at work (it wouldn't be a problem though...).

Trying to parse your last sentence, I'd say you had more than one glass of wine

my work is pretty relaxed, i work in an office/factory environment....but i do all my work in my office, i come in 90 mins late, and no one says anything, i can have lunch when i want....we have a BBQ at least once a month. The boss pays for the meat, onions, eggs and bread...all we do is show up.

We have beer friday, were we are allowed to drink beer after 3pm. Our boss pays for the beer too.

As long as i get my work done, no one complains, i do most of my WBW surfing while at work

It would have to be some sort of holiday, but we have had drinks during work hours before. It would not happen on a daily basis here though.

Where I work now, no way in hell. They are way to uptight with rules to allow a little drinking.

But when I worked in a restaurant it wasn't a big deal for the manager or the head chef to break out a bottle of something if things were slow or one of us workers were having a birthday or something.

Working offshore in the oilfield is a drag, you can't just go home at night ya know. It's kind of like being in jail, but the money is good. Plus we have internet, phones and really good food, Norwegian cooks might i add. Working 12 hour shifts, but mostly sitting around watching people work is relaxing, smoking pot on the helideck after shift is MOST relaxing!!!

Sometimes when we are slow I can get away with sitting up front by the UPS computer and look at a magazine or read a book. I mean they really cant say anything to me cause I am up front and watching everything

I work from home 95% of the time. In my pajamas usually. I can do anything I want as long as my work gets done. And everyday is beer day.

I'm a private investor and do what I want, when I want, where I want with whoever I want. At times this finds me quaffing German or Czech beers.

I, unfortunately, am in the minority here then. i work at a UPS customer service center. I answer Preferred customer emails all day. Although we get 30 min fr lunch to go where we please, if anyone came back with even a hint of alcohol on their breath, they'd be fired. Closest I get to being relaxed is to just sit there and daydream in front of my computer.
