But remember, the WEP encryption is based on the static key you give.
That makes WEP rather easy to break in to, and you should change your WEP key on a regular basis to improve the safety of your network.

No problemo mate

Is it a G4 iBook or older?
for £150?

BUY IT (if it's a G4)!

Macs are great for working, as in office/web/such work.
You can't run pc-progs in them, but they have a nice collection of useful software pre-installed when bought, and all major companies also make Mac-versions of their software.

iBooks are very good laptops, small, have a good batterylife, good screens, and small powercords.
They are extremely handy and portable.

You'll need more ram and an external HD to use it to it's full potential. Look @ eBay for a sense of local market prices. I have lots of friends running OS X on that vintage machine and they are quite happy... The key for them was maxing out the ram, one guy said it was like getting a free processor upgrade as a bonus.

I think that might be a good machine for getting to know Macs and how they work.
And what sessionpartner is saying about the ram might be a good idea.

For that price (around 200&euro I would buy that iBook.
(because macs are extremely expensive around here, even used (and especially laptops))

make sure all of you lan connections are disabled, and also make sure that your computer isnt finding a weaker signal from a neighbor and trying to connect to that

I think you can, but it will be even more expensive.
It's all about demand, Macs are so rare that there isn't as big need for memory upgrades as there is for pc's, so they are more expensive. And that is a laptop afterall....
