If you are comfortable in looking through you registry and start up items you might want to try a little program called jv16, just type it into google and you'll find it. Anyhow this lets you look through every hkey entry, start up items, add remove program and all kinds of other things. I find this very useful. Just be careful what you are deleting, it may stop your computer working all together.

I think I have the same thing...my homepage keeps going back to 3 or 4 different search engines: coolsearch, allsearch, wetsearch, & searchclub. When I google search something and click on the desired link, mine will go to those two or three times before it goes to the link!
I'll try that "ad-aware" and see if it works...thanks

If you were brought to this site inadvertently because you were trying to use a search engine, you may be infected with a virus that is affecting Windows machines and forwarding them to a server that was removed and replaced with a blank cPanel server. Spybot rocks. It finds spyware, then when you restart, Spybot runs before anything else and deletes the crap that other spyware programs have trouble deleting.

i had a problem similiar to this not to long go, it really pissed me off when i ran msconfig to turn it off startup, but everytime i rebooted it was back. finally i figured out it was in my startup folder in the start menu. i feel smart now. (and if you dont know what msconfig is, type it in run, it shows you every program your computer runs when it boots, plus your config.sys etc, etc) (ok maybe not config.sys but it does show you your boot.ini, win.ini, and system.ini files)
