Halloween?!?

Ok this is a question mainly for the parents of this site. What the fuck happened to Halloween? I mean it used to be scary, and people were afraid to go outside. But now its not scary at all some not all of you parents let your kids dress up as princesses and cartoon characters(These are not real costuems.) So this is my second question I know some of you probably
explained to your kids that your supposed to be scary, but if your encouraging them to be fairies, firemen or what ever the fuck shouldn’t be a costume. Why do you do this Halloween is supposed to be scary not dumb ok that’s my rant

You got older dude, it was only scary when you were a kid. I haven't seen any kids in the UK dressed as fairies or firemen on Halloween

Gotta let you kid dress up like they want. It's not for you, it's for them. So if they want to dress as a fairy or whatever that's cool. I remember people dressing in all kinds of different shit, scary and silly, when I was younger.

It's still is scary to kids. Face it dude, you've grown up.

BTW, My daughter is going as a vampire this year and has been everything from a witch to a princess to the devil.

i am holding a halloween party at my apartment, costumes and all. Mostly people round 18-25 there, should be fun. I am wearing my pimpsuit. Vamp is going as SATAN or as I like to call him, Stan with an extra A

Its all about the moms deciding what they'll be. My youngest is going to be Darth Vader which to me is kind of cool seeing him liking something I liked when I was a kid. My daughter wanted to be a cat???? whats that all about? My oldest (11) thinks he is too old and too cool to dress up. Oh well... mom said it was ok and made the decision w/o me while I was at work. Women... go figure

I think that its cool highguy that your daugter is going as diffrent things but i guess what i am tring to get at is that its to fucking comercialized i just think its wrong i think all dads should take over and have veto power over a costume or at least help them make it scary

Ok to all you guys that say "face it i grown up" No i still trick or treat im 21 and when i step out that door I try to look scary as i fuckin can I can care less what people think of me i will go trick or treating for like 2 hours then go to a party get drunk off my ass Now thats thats the only thing i guess you could say i have grown up about but i was drinking before 21 so yeah guess not

Hey My kids are going as scary stuff and I intend to scare the crap out of the ones that come to my door.
The real pain is the people who give out that bite size crap, remember when you got full size candy. that's what I give out.

hell yeah my family used to give out 1 liters of pepsi and coke to the the first five trick or treaters but now all the kids in my neighbor hood suck so we just scare the livin fuck out of them

Ok maybe you haven't "grown up" neither have I, but since you've gotten older stuff just doesn't seem to be as scary as when you were younger. Halloween is still scary to kids.

I hate trick or treat. First, it's an American import (I'm in the UK). Second, most kids think that slapping on a bit of green face-paint or cutting holes in a sheet entitles them to a treat ( and round here, they don't want candy, they want cash! ). Third, what sort of parents encourage kids to go round knocking on the doors of complete strangers to get sweets? Are they the same parents who tell their kids not to take sweets off strangers? Perverse. Finally, half the time the little bastards play their trick anyway, just as soon as you shut the door. So this year, I'm gonna sit by the door and wait. When the little s.o.b's knock and shout "Trick or Treat", I'm gonna open the door, shout "Trick!" and taser the little swine.

Lets see them have a happy Hallowe'en then...

Well, being American, and being a parent, I enjoy waling with my children house to house. I would love to have some prick try some shit like that on one of my kids. My "treat" would be to kick his ass and then call the cops on him. ...
