No shit...nope..I don't know anything about baseball. Actually, I am a football fan myself but as a typical red-blooded American sports fan I know plenty about the 4 major sports. If my knowledge of baseball is so low how did I know the Yankees payroll is roughly 30 mill more then the next biggest spender?

My point was....the Yankees have revenues in the hundreds of millions and baseball is too stupid to limit what teams can spend so teams like KC and Milwaukee get crushed.

I'll respect the Yankees when they try to win on a payroll of 50-90 million like most of the other teams.

And the Marlins were a fluke. They won't even make the PO's this season.

even if the Yankees don't win the WS every year,thier payroll will all but guarentee them of no worse then 2nd place in thier division. Assuming the BoSox ever get their crap together.

So I hate the Yankees...I hate the Lakers..I hated the Cowboys...I hate the Rams....I hate the Bucs. I pretty much hate any team that is not my own...which is what a good fan should do.

Sorry for questioning your knowledge of baseball. I certainly mean no disrespect. But a knowledgeable fan would surely realize that the Royals had a very good season, finishing second in their division with one of the smallest payrolls in baseball (second to the Twins with an equally miniscule payroll). In fact, 3 of the 6 playoff teams last year were small market teams with small payrolls (Oakland, Minnesota, and Florida). And as I mentioned in my previous post, the Marlins won the World Series with one of the smallest payrolls in the league. Meanwhile the Mets finished last in their division with one of the highest payrolls in baseball. Therefore your assumption that a big payroll guarantees success and that small market teams cannot compete with teams like the Yankees is simply incorrect.
