firefox 2.0 bug?

anyone else having a problem with firefox 2.0 freezing? i've had to close it down and restart multiple times in recent days because the thing just dies...often amid WBW fun.

I just downloaded FF2 today, seems to be doing alright.

The browser that finally put out it's ready build, IE7, was doing absolutely great up until yesterday where they had to add yet another one of their goddamned security patches...and as you'd expect, IE7 how now joined it's older siblings in performance...inconsistent and clogged.

Im still on 1.5, is 2.0 really better then 1.5?

i see no real differences with 2.0, other than you can close each tab individually (the little "X" is on the tab itself instead off on the right hand corner.
but i keep having to shut it down. damn thing freezes constantly.
a real pain in the ass.

Try this.


1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll
down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time.
When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really
speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This
means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer.
Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".
This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on
information it recieves.

If you're using a brodband connection you'll load pages 2-30 times faster
now.

damn rainbow. I wasn't even having problems with it, but that shit made it way WAY better. It's like fuckin lightning now. You must be some kinda damn hippie genius. And here I thought you weren't good for anything all along. lol

FF 2.0 works very fine for me, only my old skins for it dont work.. exept the Helloween one , lol...gets time that they bring all those black ones back to work.

yeah, mine has been real buggy, had some problems with youtube and some other stuff, and they definitely need to bring back the black themes, greenshift, blueshift, etc

well this helped with the freezin problem and i'm not to sure about speed tho but then again i do have dial-up ... it does help a bit tho thanx
