Female Fronted Rock/Metal

I just recently started listening to Otep because of my sister-in-law and for those who has never heard of them, it is a female fronted metal band.


When I heard this woman belt out some hellacious deep screams, I was astounded. I couldn't believe that sound was coming from this particular woman.

So I guess the point of this thread is to post up some of the ones you like, preferably with pics and/or videos and not just text comments.

Here is a different band thats somewhat the same but it consists of nothing but women. I think they have been out for a while now but I've just started getting in to the screaming type of metal.

I Love The Genitorturers cuz Bryce ("BIZZ"), their lead guitarist is my son! (Get it's right since I was a pop star -I still perform (51 yrs now!) as a professional musician & singer!)They won 5 awards at the Hard Rock Music Awards! Their last DVD "Live in Sin" is a real hoot! My fav songs they do is "Tell Me" and "I Touch Myself".

Thanks FT, I just come across Arch Enemy a few minutes ago. I like the sound of the music, just don't like the singing very much. I don't know if it's because of the constant screaming, the sound of her voice while screaming or both. Props to her in any case cause there is no way I would be able to do that for a minute much less for the duration of a whole song.

I've heard of Lita Ford but nothing like the one you posted. The only thing I've heard of her was a couple of songs she did with Ozzy, but I like them.

I've always liked Joan Jett but again I never heard anything from her before I guess it would be her solo career. The only songs I've heard from her was I Love Rock N' Roll and Do You Want to Touch Me.

Never heard of Wendy O Williams so thanks for posting it up about her, The Horrorpops and The Runaways, It'll give me something to check out.

Also you just gave me an idea of another group, The Cranberries. Alot of their stuff I didn't like very much but there were a few songs I did like.
