Ok,
I'm all safe and warm in Ohh Canada but my family is in florida. I talked to my twin and she said that they could go w/out power for as long as 4 weeks. Looks like just over 3 million people in florida are having hurricane related power outages.. a third of that is in the county my family and friends live in. I know my family is ok but i feel entirely too guilty for living ok while they aren't. I feel like i should be there suffering alongside. i know it sounds dumb. I can't shake this cranky/helpless feeling. i want to scream and cry. I know iknow, it's just power..but no hot water, food, or anything..they'll prolly not work for a week (how's that gonna affect ppl?) I have only heard from one of my friends. Every cell i call goes straight to voicemail..i guess some towers are out.
Just wanted to vent i guess...thanks for sharing, ya'll.
xoxo

Glad to hear your family is safe.
I'll say a little prayer for your friends.
Go ahead and scream and cry. Its good
stress relief. Breaking stuff works too.

I know exactly what you mean, same thing happened here and same for me some family was where the hurricane hit... they're ok now but food isnt getting to the city and they've got no power either, at least we know they're fine... they could do a lot worse...
and yeah, good for you for letting it out...

it'll be ok.. they seem to have it more together for these things in Florida. I just moved back from the Caribbean, and I gotta say--I'm kind of liking the cold of Colorado, over watching those GIANT, whirling storms coming in-one after another!!!! all the best to you!!

The cell towers won't be up until most residents have power, some probably working off generators, but not all. You'll probably get a land line call sooner from them.

I'm glad you're family and friends are ok though!! The rest is just stuff.

Are their homes alright? It sounds like they came out OK there, right? One of my close friend's parents live in Fort Myers and I can't reach her to find out how they are. I hope for the best for you and your family. Just think, in a month or so they'll have 70-80 degree days (whatever that is in celsius) and you'll be very cold so you won't feel so bad for them then. I know how bad it feels to worry about family far away so I wish you the best.

Olkay her is an interesting perspective....your family i smost likely perfectly safe and they are going to stay that way. Spme areas in North Carolina had this problem for as long as two months several years ago after a hurricane or heavy snow or some shit. Wanna know what happened? People got to know their neighbors. They banded together to feed and entertain each other, sharing rescources for a long time, alternating whose house they played board games at every night, they told stories and played music for each other. Life took on a quieter pace and they all came out of it having gained something spiritual they felt they would miss afterwards. This could be a good thing for them.

YEah my family is ok, i just feel guilty for not being there to endure it along side of them. property wise they seem to be ok, they parked far from the apartment but away from possible debris. They are pretty friendly w/ a few neighbors and my aunt lives close by. I just hope someone close gets power soon..cold showers and no hot food sounds pretty rough. As for my twin..yup i have one...lol I am actually only 1 child of 5. I have two sisters (twin included) and two brothers. Growing up being close to aunts, cousins, even parents wasn't a big deal. My siblings were. I miss them and especially that nogood adorable twin sister...she's verrry cute and silly. Last year she was a hobbit for halloween. two years before that there was a giant Golem cardboard cut out under the tree in a santa hat. That's just kat. We are similar in looks but style/personality we differ...she has the skater/surfer gal look going...loves shopping at places like pacific sunwear...whereas i'm a jeans and tee w/ sandals kinda gal...dunno why i'm rambling..just miss her i guess...
Thanks for all the love i feel less lonely about all this when i can get it off my (gorgeous) chest.
XOXO
