the bogan sounds good..i got a mohawk hair cut....easily made into a mullet

get a labcoat and some sun glasses (labcoats are cheep and easy) tell them you're not really a mad scientist, rather a slightly irritated scientist (and see if they get the refference to you not wanting to be at the party)
