Just on the off chance that this might be the issue, some keyboards and older OS's allowed you to have a clicking sound whenever you depressed a key on the kybd. verify through the control panel (Keyboard Properties) that the "click" is not enabled.

i thought those weirdo symbols are because its in a different language ..meaning maybe its japanese or chinese or whatever. I am no computer guro by any means ..but i do know when i open a prog ive d/l from winmx ..sometimes if its japanese or chinese ..or lets say asian ... those weird boxes came up ..that is until i installed the simplified chinese language pack ..and about every other.
