There is going to be a lot of pressure on the Miami Heat to win a championship, but they've got a heck of a team.

lebron can join the miami heat ... but its not going to solidify himself as a legend when hes done with his career ... legends take teams like the cavaliers were before he got there and completely turn them around and make everyone else better ... wade and bosh are both superstars that should be on their own team whomever better. I will laugh SOO hard next year when all three of their egos get in the way and it creates problems in the locker room and the heat fall apart and dont make it to the finals ...
but as for me ... lebron was a great player in cleveland but honestly this whole free agency period has ruined basketball for me.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....I stopped paying attention to basketball the moment it was a "rule" to play rap crap, hip hop garbage on every single talk show, tv show and basketball telecast.........

I don't think there is going to be any issues with their personalities. They all became good friends when they played in the olympics and they all want to win a championship. Maybe after they win one, they'll lose interest but I think they are going dominate until then. The bonus in this is that they'll be able to get some good role players fairly cheap since they'll have a better chance of getting a ring if they go there.

They will be very good but it is almost impossible to win a championship without a solid bench, If miami goes about 10 mil above the salary cap to sign role players they could win a few championships. The big three cant do it alone. It wont be easy, the Lakers and Celtics arguably have four allstars a piece!

I agree. I think this move completely tarnished Lebron's legacy.

Okay- here's my take on the whole situation. Dewayne Wade did everything he should've- he stayed with a strong team that had had him his whole career.
Bosh is an asshole. He's a self-centered whiny prick and I hope he never wins a championship. He leads the Raptors to utter mediocrity and then acts like he's king shit of the world, refusing to sign anywhere but a "cool" city to be in. I've never liked him, and the way he approached free agency results in me never being able to like him going forward.
But the biggest piece of shit in this whole deal is Lebron James. Cleveland made him what he is today. No one has a bigger personal franchise in basketball today, not even Kobe. And why? He hasn't won a championship. He was a great story- he was the local kid who was taken #1 overall, bringing a horrible franchise to greatness. And he was doing it in middle America- finally, a superstar that isn't playing in one of the huge markets, i.e., NY, Boston, LA, Chicago, Miami. Cleveland put him on its shoulders and practically deified him. And then he turns his back on the city, the state, and the team, and most importantly, all the fans that supported him thus far.
He's absolutely free to sign with whatever team he wants. I'm not arguing that he isn't free to do so. But he shouldn't have, because it was a dick move. And then to celebrate his signing with an hour long ESPN special is just downright offensive. It shows clearly just how selfish and self-centered he really is, and that he doesn't really give a damn about his fanbase.
I don't hope he gets hurt or anything like that; but I do hope that he continues to thrive for mediocrity in the playoffs. I hope he gets stymied and throws a little tantrum like he has the past four seasons, allowing another team to knock him out again. Wade is unselfish enough to win a championship; Lebron and Bosh will have to really work at not being selfish pricks if they expect to win.
I just can't help but compare Lebron's signing to Joe Mauer. Both were the #1 overall pick in their respective sports and played for their hometown team. Both were made into idols in the cities where they played. But Mauer seems to care about the fans; Lebron doesn't. And that results in Mauer signing a less lucrative deal to stay in the state that made him what he is today, and Lebron signing a less lucrative deal to turn his back on the fans. I realize Mauer has an exceptional character, but if I were Lebron, I don't think I would be able to stand to look Mauer in the eyes if I'd ever come across him.
But whatever. That's my rant. Miami is going to be damn tough to beat, but I'd rather see Kobe win his 6th (or something) championship ring if it meant Lebron and Bosh don't get one.

Actually, as of right now, they have a heck of a Big 3. They're exceptionally weak after that. Especially since they basically just gave away Michael Beasley for a draft pick next year. I don't think any other player is technically under contract for Miami other than Wade, James, and Bosh. They need to be able to build a supporting role around these guys, otherwise they'll get too worn down as the season goes on and will run out of steam in the playoffs. I'm not sure how much money they have to spend on other guys, but they all signed 6 year deals worth $106MM-$110, so about $18 MM/year or so. I think they're going to have to rely on 5 or 6 guys willing to sign minimum or close to minimum contracts. We'll see.
