Hi all

Just after some info. I am thinking of going to Brazil this year for a holiday and wondered what the best area is to visit for beaches etc.

Can you leave the resorts without getting hassled?

Any info would be appreciated

You will be fine aslong as you dont stand out to much / act stupid or hassle people there.

the north is supposed to be very veyr nice but i ve never been there, The outh in BR usually travels very lightly to small coastal towns with 150 or so habitants. Sounds like paradise to me.

Avoid slum areas, don't get too drunk, and don't "flash" money. Most Brasilians like the Americans and Brits, and quite a few speak English. Respect their culture and customs (it's hard not to) and you should have a great time.

Sounds about right, also it's wise to carry some cash, as not all of the money changing houses are that reputable, but don't carry large bills if possible.

For my money, the best beach experience is in Buzios, it's about 2 hours from Rio, I'm pretty sure you can hop a bus though if you're not driving. It's kind of a smaller town, but they have a great nightlife with restaurants and clubs, and AMAZING beaches,
