I have refrained from mentioning this earlier to avoid rudeness, but I live in Portland, Oregon. We get to be snobs about what side of town our beer (ale, barleywine, lambic, etc.) comes from. The beer hunter (not the boy hunter) Michael Jackson calls my hometown beervana. Within 100 miles of where I am writing this there are over a dozen world class craft breweries, each making at least five different beers.

My current local favorites are:
Hair of the Dog Fred
Widmer Snowplow
Amnesia Brewing IPA
BJ's Lasto's Oatmeal Stout
MacTarnahan's Amber

All of these are brewed within 10 miles of my house.

There are a lot of great beers, and more great beers are being brewed every year. Come to Portland for the Spring Beer Festival some year and learn to enjoy the creation of a lot of great beers. Don't settle for one beer any more than you would settle for one picture on this forum.

Stella if im buying cans, Kronenbourg Premier Kru for a treat, Kronenbourg Blanc with a meal, sometimes bud if they have it on pump, usually carlsberg if im in a pub.
