Anyone ever tried a hook-up site before?

I'm just curious if anyone has ever actually signed up for one of those "get laid" sites like adultfriendfinder or amateurmatch and had any success with, you know, getting laid...

Investing some time on myspace.com would be a good way to hook up. I ran a personal ad in a newspaper a few times, went on some dates that where decent back before the net. Nothing wrong with this, no shame in using yet another medium to meet women. I like to get out in meatspace and see what I'm getting though, move in personally. But that's just me. I am one of those unique individuals who is completely unimtimidated when I move in on a woman to talk to her even if it's with no previous introduction. The only intro you need is the one you do for yourself when you walk over to her...alone, not with your stupid buddies or a wingman who is just going to fuck things up for you. Show some guts and win her respect.

Another thing you can do, and what is probably the best advice I was ever given, is to go to the bars, but-and this is key-go to the happy hours and not the late night venues. Girls at happy hours have careers and are just out for a few after work with their friends, they're not the serious boozers who come out later. Beware that women count the neatness and style of your shoes to be something that will make or break your outfit, more than you may think. Wear nice shoes. Jyst my two cents.

i have used the dating sites... of yahoo, match and cupid... its a hit or miss with any of them.

um, here's a tip: mention you're a pilot and you'll have private messages from females up to ying yang. that's the sad thing about those sites. you can meet some great people on there but for the most part it's just a vacuous void of pretentious fucks pretending to be something they're not. i did dabble in it last yr for a short time but it was a mind numbing experience.

guy's are expected to do a song and dance routine to attract the ladies, well, unless you looked like brad pitt, and the chicks, well all they had to do was show their tits. the double standard was interesting to see. don't get me wrong, i went in it as my own "social experiment", if you will. if you don't take things too seriously it can be some fun. however there was many a time, say in the chat room, where i observed people getting very frustrated cus nobody would want to 'private chat' or to get to the point: go for a fuck.

If you want to get laid so badly, why don't you solicit a hooker or something? It may actually be cheaper.
If it's companionship you're looking for, then you can even find that at the library.
