Spotted this article about and thought I'd post it.

http://www.chewonthatblog.com/2010/08/03/100-foods-to-eat-before-you-die/

A food critic posted his choice of 100 foods to eat before you die.

I've added a description for some of the not so obvious ones, and substituted some for a few of my own, and I'll put a comment by some of the ones I've tried.

Feel free to add your own to the list and comment!

1. Venison
2. Nettle tea
3. Huevos rancheros - Mexican egg breakfast
4. Steak tartare
5. Crocodile- tried it. Thought it was ok.
6. Black/Blood pudding - a British staple of the full English breakfast. I prefer it lightly fried, or raw. Very nice!
7. Cheese fondue
8. Carp
9. Borscht - beetroot soup
10. Baba ghanoush - egg plant dish
11. Calamari - Squid. tried it once. Thought it was ok.
12. Pho - noodle soup.
13. PB&J sandwich- I don't quite understand the seemingly American obsession with putting peanut butter on almost everything.
14. Aloo gobi - curried potato and cauliflower. I love it.
15. Hot dog from a street cart- quite often
16. Epoisses - called the king of cheeses.
17. Black truffle

25. Brawn, or head cheese - not actually cheese, but meat from the head of a cow or sheep.
26. Raw Scotch Bonnet pepper
27. Dulce de leche
28. Oysters

only 12. What curry is hotter than a phaal?
#4638941
Korma/kurma - mild, yellow in colour, with almond and coconut powder.
Curry - medium, brown, gravy-like sauce.
Biryani - Spiced rice and meat cooked together and usually served with vegetable curry sauce.
Dupiaza/dopiaza - medium curry the word means "double onion" referring to the boiled and fried onions used as its primary ingredient.
Pasanda - a mild curry sauce made with cream, coconut milk, and almonds or cashews.
Roghan josh (from "roghan" (fat) and "josh" (energy/heat - which as in English may refer to either "spiciness" or temperature)) - medium, with tomatoes and paprika.
Bhuna - medium, thick sauce, some vegetables.
Dhansak - medium/hot, sweet and sour sauce with lentils (originally a Parsi dish). This dish often also contains pineapple.
Madras - fairly hot curry, red in colour and with heavy use of chili powder.
Pathia - hot, generally similar to a madras with lemon juice and tomato purée.
Jalfrezi - onion, green chili and a thick sauce.
Sambar - medium heat, sour curry made with lentils and tamarind.
Vindaloo - this is generally regarded as the classic "hot" restaurant curry, although a true vindaloo does not specify any particular level of spiciness. The name has European origins, derived from the Portuguese term "vinha d'alhos", a marinade containing wine ("vinho", or sometimes vinegar, and garlic ("alho", used to prevent the pork from going off in hot weather.
Phaal - extremely hot dish using ground chilies, ginger and fennel.
Naga curry - relatively new extremely hot dish with unique savoury taste made with the highly aromatic Naga Morich or Bhut Jolokia chili pepper.

If there is no beans then it's not an English Breakfast as far as i'm concerned, i find that Black Pudding compliments the breakfast as well.

Totally agree!

Another question, fried tomato or tinned?

I prefer mine lightly fried, it burns very easy. Served hot, or just eaten raw. It has an unusually meaty texture, considering its just congealed blood! Also called blood sausage in other parts of the world.

This sounds Interesting! Going on the old fashioned ethos of 'nothing goes to waste'. I wouldn't mind trying that!
