Some Help For The Newbies At WBW

where are the good old times when noobs got flamed and bashed that was fun...

I like the thought of a frontpage feature with link to all sticky's. I didn't read every single one of them when I joined, mainly because there were so many and they were all over the place. But I did read a majority of them. Yes i've made a few mistakes along the way, but not nearly the number I would have made had I not read em.

I'm sure the old times of bashing and flaming noobs was fun (still have the insult the person above thread), however think of the extra workload that would cause the already over-stretched mods. I'm not an expert, but i'm sure they spend a lot of time removing pics, posts, uploads etc. from noobs because they don't know not to post/upload pro pics, pics already loaded, and just meaningless topics, etc. I think it's all about a smoother running and a more friendly site.

I have noticed threw the years...

When your a nOOb your mostly looking to lurk and just enjoy the content of the said forum.

After awhile most people [the good ones] decide to contribute.

I remember the 1st forum I went to, I was banned within 3 days! [for uploading to the server]

That not only taught me to read the stickies, but also abide by them.

Have I made mistakes, even on WBW? of course... We all have, cept FeFe and Latino

But like is was said above, we all have to learn from our mistakes.

Alot of times when I come on WBW, theres seems to be no mods.

Once in a awhile I will see a mod pop on for like 10 minutes or so them bam he/she is gone.

We all have jobs, we all have a life, but it is about time we better WBW by helping those lesser in knowledge.

The problem is, though bashing nOObs tends to be fun, they learn nothing, except maybe to lurk or leave.

The front page should be directed to the stickies after joining and before posting, maybe there should be some form of agreement a nOOb must agree to before he/she posts? this would cut down ALOT on spamming.

These are just a few random thoughts running thru my head as I read this thread, there are many more suggestions out there we just have to get on the right track...

sometimes a little asskick helps too..

I'm actually feeling some sympathy for some of the little buggers myself. Guess only the really stupid ones need bashed then rehabilitated back into the WBW society.

but, at last some need to get bashed... and, not everyone can be in the helping group, some must take the bashing part..
