I'm going to buy a car, my first car (because man without car don't get pussies :-) I was wondering about VW Beetle (the old one ofcos, can't afford on new one) What's your opinions about this car? I heard that they are: inexpensive, reliable and easy to repair, they are collectible, so it's easy to get parts. And ofcos - they have "personality" and "look", that's very important! Does anybody on this forum has one??? Is there better pick than beetle in 1000-1500 euro cash range (European cars), classic look (not like: shitty old Golfs, Passats and other crap), small engine, 4 seats (biiig backseat for my "special purposes" :-) ???

Years ago I had a '73 and I loved it. Easy to repair indeed. I recall easily replacing the clutch cable after it had snapped.

Fun car. Simple, yet functional interior. Parts were easy to find and relatively inexpensive.

Those are good cars, reliable and looking good! But why not go for a Opel Kadett C (1974-79), the coupe is very nice! I have one myself, very easy to repair and lots of parts to get.
But a Beetle is alright.

HAHA.. "big backseat".. NOT.. i had a 1972 superbeetle.. its not much room to do anything.. and yes its a classic.. but the parts are not so easy to find.. since the new ones came out.. yes very affordable.. great gas milage, and if you think a "bug" is gonna get you some pussy.. THINK AGAIN!! its not... unless you "boom" it out.. get you a superior sound system and some awesome speaker box set up and then, just then maybe you might turn it into a "pimp" mobile.. cause girls were im from like the BASSSS Booom Booom Booom!! if they can Feel the Vibration thru the seat, and make there pussy get wet, then your IN.. im tellin this due to past experience!!! it was fun seein a girl i gave a ride home from school reach around the gear stick just to suck my cock cause the Vibrations made her cum her panties.. so she wanted to return the favor by making me cum all over her face.... so GET THEM VIBRATIONS GOING.. and YOUR IN!!!
GOOD LUCK!!

Are you a girl? If yes, then buy one. If you are not a girl or a mobile hairdresser, then buy a man's car

Buy a Honda with vtec engine. That gives you a quick entrance and good technology without any problems. Every honda engine is like a new one after 300 000 kilometers if you've changed the oils properly.

I've had a beetle for over two years, and except for getting hit, I haven't had to repair anything that wouldn't have come up in normal use on any other car. When they closed the plant in Mexico City in 2003, several dozen companies in the U.S. bought the machinery to continue making parts for older "air-cooled" bugs, so, YES, parts are available for them, and they are still pretty cheap. Try rebuilding a 3.0 litre Mitsubishi engine for $450.00 and change. It ain't gonna happen. The best thing about driving an air-cooled car? You never run out of air. They do need almost constant attention, but they aren't tough to work on, and a little more knowledge never hurt anybody.

The first car I ever owned was a 1970 VW Beetle. It got excellent gas mileage, was easy and cheap to work on, was fun to drive, had lots of leg and head room and had excellent brakes. These cars are classics and have quite a cult following. Change the oil and adjust the valves every two thousand miles. Go for it dude !

Excellent brakes???????????!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Did yours have a disk brake conversion, because mine had drums (to start with) and they were some of the worst brakes ever!

The Beetle used to have cable operated brakes until the 60's too!!

actually a good choice, Beatles are easy on maintenance, but before you by on check the floor from below. they like to rust away their easily. as far as i know they got a little space between the backbench and the engine compartment that is made for bass, subwoofer style and the chicks will love to take the back seat. so get a good one, fix the floor and put a bad ass stereo in and you got a classic ride that rocks

so, most American made cars did so until the 8o's, so what in north america you travel anyway only on speeds an European would probably consider stalling
