the junkyard owners nows how much new cost, so they now how much they can ask for old ones, so they don´t get much cheaper and they are old

My advise for you to save 240 euros is to drive your car only on sunny days.

Volkswagens are the best cars in the world, parts cost lots because they rarely break. Hence why a scrap yard charges so much too!

How many other makes of cars have so many old cars on the road??

Have you tried Motonet or AD part shops yet? They have reasonable prices.

Volkswagens aren't the best cars in the world, every god damn japanese win them what comes to strength.

Welcome to Finland see HOW MANY jap cars are on the road after 10 to 15 years. LOTS OF THEM! Jap cars have awesome technology and they will last many, many years. There are many Toyota Carina II's from '85 on our roads for example. And lots of other cars over 10 years. Our car-taxes to new cars are so ridiculous, so many buys a used car. And everyone knows japanese cars will last long.

Motonet has lots of VW parts, have you asked there? You should call and ask if they can order it cheaper.

@JonM - Finland has Europe's most oldest car base, our average car age is now 10,5 years. And it has been growing since 1990.

i'd love to live over there so i could get my jetta parts cheaper :/

i usually just go to the local junkyard and yank the parts i need off the golfs, jettas, and passats. you can easily hide small parts as well hehe
