not sure if it's injected or not? First thing is to change the air filter and exhaust to make things flow more easily. Try K & N filters then get a custom exhaust made up for the car. Try running some cams from Piper and change the flywheel as well. Next step is to modify the ecu. Don't really expect any big power gains. I'd say maybe 15 bhp at the most. Tbh, because there's not much you can really do to that car, the best thing is maybe to get an engine swap. You'll get more bhp for your £ or should that be euro

it's a injection 1500 GLXi

inside the air filter there is a electronic thing dunno what it is, don't think it's room for the electronic module inside an K&N air filter

BTW. i know it's a shitty motor

well said watty.

Bighill, i need to see a picture of it really. That could be the airmass sensor but not sure because it should really be on or near the air filter and not inside itself??
Tbh, the cheapest way of making your motor faster is putting nitrous oxide. I'd suggest not going anything bigger than 50bhp jets because you might blow the internals on your engine. That's the cheapest and best way for you to get more power. It's not hard to install either. Should take the best part of a day if you want to set it up properly. Only £500 to buy or around 750 - 800 euros.

can give us picture of the car........looking but there are 3 mitsubishis by that name and year....be little more sperfic..any way check out the link that should give idea's..but there's always nos and custom manifold and back box..let car release gases better...but if car is non turbo...be carful could lose more power then gaining due back-pressure....but if is turbo engine big bore back box is not a issue.that performance air filter might gain 15bhp + depending....if is a turbo or not could gain more if it's turbo. And NoS take it to expert test what nos jet is right for you car 50bhp is safe any thing over really have get it tested first..dont wont blow up the engine now..

what about the "catalysator", can u weld a pipe through it and don't do anything with the "lambdaprobe" (don't know the english word for it, i think it may be correct).

I know what your saying want to de-cat the car.taking catalytic converter is good way for performance gains.but got check law about that.after all dont want pulled over now......you can get performance cat's so wont have to do any welding.....any way get pic of your car....be first step on me telling you how get this sucker tuned......got idea whats there for it??? your not going see great power gains from 1500cc engine..your going have either do engine swap for big power, but it's cost too much waste of money on that car....my advice is get another car try mk2 vw golf gti there cheap and are little road rocket and real fun to drive,it's the poor mans porsche...loads mods for it....

R.I.P mine......

check this one out Mk2 Golf VR6 Turbo Project Car...just shows what can be done. lots engines from v.a.g group can be used e.g Audi,Seat, and newer Vw engines like 1.8 turbo from mk5 golf gti..

it's just some sensor (mass air flow sensor) In most cases in tuning you'll need to change that too

the fucking guy even said he knew it was a shitty motor...so its obviously not his 'preference' and im giving him advice by telling him not to waste money on that motor, in other words look for a better one..fuck

well, i'm the kind of guy who makes the best of what he has instead of swapping cars every paycheck. cars are expensive in norway and taxes are insane for swapping cars. so instead of doing that, i'm planning a sleeper..

YES! i would rather have a Lancer GTi or the 2.0L engine but thoose are rare and expensive for a guy that makes 6,5$ an hour before 30% taxes. so i'm looking for relativly cheap and inexpensive ways to tune or style my little pride

most bolt ons are a waste of money...the only thing i would consider spending money on is an exhaust system obviously for the grunt and a *bit* more horsepower...but if u want the best bang for your buck u need to polish the manifolds...

if inside could it be an O2 sensor... but then again too old for one but still japanese cars had those for a while, the way were workn on our tibi we got a cai ( cold air intake ) performance sparkplugs and wires, and exhaust system headers yet to come. ( the one wit the guy standing beside it )
