Are there any other F1 fans here?
We seem to be missing a thread to chat about the worlds greatest race series!
Let's hope it stays on topic!

Good stuff, forgot that we didn't have an F1 topic up. There was a little discussion offtopic discussion on F1 on a different thread from what i can remember. I'm personally rooting for Jenson Button. Go BAR Honda!

Raikkonen gets hungry after his unusually long stint of three laps, and decides to have a quick barbecue

Thanks phenom - I'm a Ferrari supporter really, but as a Brit I'm also hoping Jenson does well - his first few laps at Imola were amazing. It will be interesting to see if Honda buy out the team once BAT end their sponsorship in two years time. The name BAR will change at any rate.

thanks for the Monty pic captain... i still think he has best raw talent in of the pack... and no one will convince me otherwise.

Ya say Schummy rules, would be interesting to see a top driver get the second Ferrari seat, just to see how good Schummy really is! I dont think he is as far ahead of the other drivers as people think.

But we all know that Ferrari giving a chance to someone like Kimmi, just aint gonna happen!

Monty has some talent I'll give you that, but he's way too inconsistant. When things are not going his way he goes into coast mode, or starts to act stupid and loses his rag, then storms off in a strop after the race.

I agree with you that it would be interesting to see other top drivers in the second Ferrari, but I think Schumi would come out on top. His talent is always having a reserve - whatever chalenge is thown down he always seems to be able to respond and better it. Take the two laps after Button first pitted at San Morino - Schumacher took TWO SECONDS per lap off Button for the next two laps. I don't hero worship Schumacher, I just appreciate excellence. In years to come we will be saying "I was there when history was made" Same as I'd have liked to see Fangio drive.

Yes Watti thats why Barichello is far ahead Schumi.
You`re just talking shit. Montoya can`t do anything but driving rude thats all.
I dont know why some people can`t accept Schumi as the best driver...
Maybe cause hes a german.

You have to take into account that he was in a fuel light car, a Ferrari at that and the BAR pit crew took a good 1½ secs longer than needed for the pit stop.

I agree Monty goes off on one occasionally, but i think thats what i like about him. He has himself some personality, on and off the track.

All said and done though... im still gonna be supporting Jensen over Monty this season. Also wait until next race.. the BAR should be incredible around Barcelona... Its where they have done all their testing. C'mon Jensen!!!

WooHoo!! Real motor sports!! I used to really despise F1 and that whole sceen. But decided to give it a chance finally last year. (Always thought it was the same as CART/CHAMP car racing, except they just had a bunch more money to spend on it.)

After watching the season up to the point of JPM driving the NASCAR stock car at Indianapolis and Jeff Gordon driving his car, I was hooked. Have been a Stock car fan since I was a little kid, and used to go to the Indy 500 every year till the IRL-Cart split. Now that I actually understand what they are doing in F1, I look forward to each race. Can't say I really have a fav driver, just enjoy the strategy and the Awesome skill that each of the drivers show in each race. Although it's hard to keep that lump down in my throat whenever I see Ferrari Red.

Last year during the NASCAR CUP time trials at Indy, while walking down the infield straight I realized, "Wow this is the actual course used by F1 cars!" And it finally hit me. (Even though I'd walked that road many times before.) I'm still a NASCAR fan, well maybe not much longer after their last "Race", but from now on when they call those NASCAR guys "The Best drivers in the World", I'll know better. None of theses series are perfect. F1 has had and still has problems, NASCAR is on it's way down, and Champ car looks like it's about to die. But overall F1 rules!

Yep, I can't wait to see what Jense does at Barcelona either. He's the only other driver I wouldn't begrudge beating Schumacher.

Hemi - I see you're a Merc fan!
