Spoiler add ons

Ok I did a search and found nothing about this here:

What the hell is the deal with all these crappy looking spoiler add ons
I'm seeing bolted to everyones trunks lately. I don't think add on spoilers
look good anyway, but has anyone else noticed these damn things?
I've seen better looking stuff come out of a shop class for the blind.

I agree...what gets me is these dumbass fast and furious kids with the 2 stage carbon wings on the back of their Honda Civics...1. it is a front wheel drive car, why put massive downforce on the tail end of the vehicle. 2. maybe if you use the car for autocross racing the spoiler would be effective, but on the street, c'mon. It's not all bad though, the manufacturers of said wings are eating well, and buying real import sports cars...like Lamborghinis and TVR Tuscans and things of that nature. Goes to show you, lead a retard to a water hole, and they will bolt it to their cars.

Spoilers are only good if they are functional!
If i see a kid with a fucking hooj spoiler on the street, i stand and laugh at them, you should see thier faces drop!

Sometimes it suits with the design.

I don't personally like huge birdtables, but smaller design products are really nice. Car customizers and builders know what they're doing. Hillbillys are another story.

SPoilers look good on a car if they are keep small and if more then a couple hundred bucks are dropped on one but yeah the cheap erector set looking wings are just gay

my old neighbour built himself a spoiler out of custom (MDF) wood. it was on a hokey old Holden Commodore lol.. the rain and sun got to it and it began to warp its was a fucken crack up...

on topic: yeah its mainly a design factor, some cars look better with them on than off..
