On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris early in the morning. The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine , through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur. No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets. Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground. No chance in hell he's doin 140mph. The cars would literally be a blur, he just casually slides by most of these cars at 100+ things would just be whizzing by at a mostly unrecognizable speed. Also the engine sounds just don't match up with the video. He's accelerating through 4 or 5 gears but barely gaining speed. It was cool to watch but I gotta say there was a hell of a lot of editing to make this video. Maybe he was doin 140kph which is more like 87mph which would be a lot more realistic and would make a lot more sense watching things pass in the vid. Sound effects (engine, tires, etc) were thrown in after the fact.

gotta agree swiss, there's a few things not quite right about that one, to be honest I only watched about 2 minutes of it.

no matter how many times i watch this video, i still like it... if at look out the side of your screen instead of just in front, it looks pretty cool...

Cool vid, a few times I thought for sure he was about to plow into a few cars, street lights, or a building. If I had been in the car when he done this, he would have had to get new seats
