Are there any other rear wheel dirve enthusiasts here? I would never buy another front wheel drive after having one for two years.
BMW and Mercedes forever.

Well rwd is the american standard and be built faster and cheeper in a bigger car, europe has narrower roads etc so the build smaller cars, hench fwd give me a rwd any day, you can hang the ass out on a turn and use power to get it back. It should be considered that all the major racing circuts use rwd cars(I know execpt rally).

AWD for life baby.
I own a 2001 Tommy Kaira tuned R (r34 skyline) and after driving AWD, RWD is dull.

AWD is the cool and probably the way of the future. But you gotta love those old, overpowered, two door RWD cars from the 70's and 80's. Nothing will ever come close to cars from this time ...

"the fastest way around the track is RWD."

It's all about application. RWD=Power off the line FWD=Intricate cornering along with maintaining direction AWD=both of the former and a hell of a lot more traction in the dirt.(hence Rally application)

RWD is most fun to drive for sure. Nothing beats sliding around with just a tap of the gas, especailly in the snow or rain. Although, AWD can be very fun offroad on a sand or dirt trail. I have to disagree with WildRunner about RWD being the fastest around the track, it really depends on what kind of track it is and how the cars are tuned. If you dont believe me watch Best Motoring International Vol. 3 & 5. You can get them from here:

http://www.bestmotoringvideo.com/

There are trailers here and links to where you can buy the videos.

I do agree ÜberPervert though BMWs rock, especailly any of the M-series.

Oh by the way Wildrunner, the last segment in Best Motoring International Vol. 3 is a race on a track using all stock cars from the factory which include a Chevrolet Corvette(RWD 350hp), Ferrari 360 Modena(RWD 400hp), Honda NSX Type S(RWD 280hp), Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII(AWD 280hp), Nissan Skyline GT-R V spec II(AWD 280HP, and a Porsche 911 Turbo(AWD 450hp)....all 2003 models. I'll let you guess what order they come in.
