Ay one know of a good subsitute for R12/
I have a 1985 Z28 that needs a good charge

I did a conversion on my 1986 GMC Jimmy S-15 YEARS ago... it wasn't too difficult, and I think it cost less than $200

only a few parts needed to be replaced (valve connections, etc so the R-12 can't be mixed with the R-134a ...)

if you're even SLIGHTLY "handy" you can probably pull it off... just look for a conversion kit that fits your vehicle..

there is a recent replacement on the market
for r12.it works ok.look at kragen/schucks.
probably any large marketer of auto parts.

the conversion costs around 40 bucks n can be bought at advance auto parts as a kit

it's not 134.
it is for older a/c systems.
if you use 134 you need to change the oil in the
old system.the old oil is not compatible with 134.
