I've been in a similar dilemma lately. I looking to find a 4dr, sub 6 sec, reliable vehicle.

So far, the M3 and honda_X's Audi idea seem to be the leaders. Of course I was thinking S4 not A4, likely a late model gen2. The issue in choosing between the two is reliability of the turbo and AWD of the Audi.

I'm open to any suggestions is someone has a 4dr, sub 6 in mind

Oh and taking out my 4dr req have you thought about a speed3?

Already suggested the mazdaspeed three brah. He says hes too tall.

M3 is an amazing car, but you have to remember the repairs are fucking astronomical.

Will an S4 run sub 6s? Like...340HP? That's plenty, but, the weight of those cars was heafty.

I know Dros has a modded A6 2.7 bi turbo...and he says it's putting out over 300 hp. That's probably an inexpensive choice, compared to a newer S4 or M3.

Checked google..apparently an S4 will go mid fives....that's pretty reasonable. I wonder what the economy is like on the 4.2...

Does the A6 or S4 come stock Turbo?

An older S4 will have the 2.7l TT.

The new S4s have 4.2l V8s....the newest ones also have supercharged sixs.

The stock A4 comes with a 1.8 or 2.0 turbo.

The newer stock A6s have 4.2L V8s, and the older ones (which I have) come with either the 2.7l V6 Bi-Turbo, the 3.0l V6 (non-turbo) or the 4.2 V8, depending upon which model you get.

Audis will be expensive on repairs tho, am I right dros?

That sucks. I drive I 2005 Mustang GT premium and it's a really nice ride. I'm not sure how much they are, but I believe the Mitsubishi Lancer(?) is available with a turbo charger and it's a 4 banger. Might try looking for a used one of those. My buddy has one and it's a nice ride.

I know cars , and would buy an M3 BMW , or an s4 AUDI yes they are 6 cyl + but will kick those Japanese cars ass ! They handle 10x better , and if you crash , you will walk away . People tend to get hurt bad at high speed in subarus , hondas etc .... i've seen people walk away at 100 + mph crash in Audi and BMW . You can easily turbo the beemer, the audi is set ..peace

The straight 6 M3 and the older 2.7l TT S4 would get pretty raped by an STI or a EVO.

So...you're saying that a slightly underpowered S4, and a completely rear wheel drive M3....will out handle two rally cars in the corners? Cars designed specifically to go around corners really, really fast. Now, if you rock into the newer Audis, S4s and RS4s...sure, that would be close. An older S4 or M3 would not out handle either of those cars. I'm going to stop talking about this now...becuase yeah.

I would agree with you slightly here...it's just, you know, people tend to get hurt pretty bad in accidents regardless. But yeah, I would agree that German cars are probably safer..maybe that's why they're so overpriced.

When people go into buying used cars, they tend to run into problems, biggest being repairs. So uhh, like I said earlier, repairing Audis and BMWs will be like getting ass raped by a cactus.
