im putting together a subwoofer system with 3 12" alpine speakers in a one chamber box with no ports and one wire terminal.to use in an ford exporer suv!
2 of the 12s are alpine type S with 200 rms and 600 max watts and the center on is a type E with 250 rms and 750 max watts.i was originally gonna buy one hifonics 1500w mono amp with 1ohm to run all 3 but now im reconsidering.
whats would be best to use? one mono amp,one multi-channel amp, or 3 smaller amps? and should they be ported? i listem to music with tight fast bass. (not rap)
im kinda new at this so any advice you can give me would be helpful you can give me would be helpful!
<-- me tring to figure this out!

If it were me... i would use 2 amps. one amp for the pair that are the same... and another amp for the single.. then you 'll be able to adjust the amp levels correctly and broaden your bass frequecies.

Do yourself a favor if you plan on running more than one large amp from the battery to the trunk use 4 guage wire from battery (fuse of course) to a terminal block and run power to amp(s) from there.

I feel you would really optimize your speakers and amps this way.

And I also prefer sealed boxes. it suits me well for all the genres i listen to...with minor eq adjustments mainly tone adjustments.
