I'm sorry for putting the American auto worker out of business. Please accept my apology.

Unless you are balls deep in a major oil company I seriously doubt you have even affected the economy in either direction.

there is no such thing as an american car anymore... All you get is a company that started american.

That being said, I've owned an 89 lesabre, 99 monte carlo, 77 k5 blazer, 85 s10 blazer, and a 93 nissan altima. The monte was made in canada and the altima made it the longest without having problems, and I drove it the hardest.

GM has had major reliability issues in the past, present, and im sure future... the only reason I have my 85 s10 blazer now is because I like the look, and its extremely cheap to fix/upgrade etc.

Just buy a car that fits your needs... nothing is 100% american anymore.

If it was for MY stupidity Americans would still have jobs. Thank you for pointing that out my friend. I am to blame.

I drive an American Chevrolet of which I cannot even pronounce the name of, that was made in Korea. I guess I am helping you out there dude.

My Nissan truck was made here in the States with 65% American parts. Toyota makes more American cars than Ford or Chevy combined. The American economy is going full force DESPITE no refineries being built here in the States for over twenty plus years. Those that want to blame everyone EXCEPT the enviro-weenies should get their head out of the dirt.

It's our unions that hurt us the most, god forbid a man actually work for his pay. Unemployment is at 4.3% here in Florida. Can anyone else match that?

I'm doing my part to support the American economy... Taking a paycheck from a French company, buying brand new gas guzzling American Made cars (YEAH one's a HEMI!), and dumping over a third of my paychecks into the freeloading wellfare engine. It's not the consumer's fault that the american auto giants weren't flexible enough to keep up with a changing world market. It would cost almost $350 US for me to fill my truck in the UK (2 years ago, probably more now)

even if you drive an american car a majority of the parts are made by foreign countries......so i guess we are all to blame

If American car companies would start giving people what they want -- namely fuel efficient, reliable cars that last as long as the japanese -- then I will start buying American. I have no pity for American companies with bad management that make bad business decisions and run the companies into the ground, abandon their pension obligations, and then later ask the federal goverment to bail them out of bankruptcy. Besides, many foreign companies manufacture their cars right here in the U.S. employing American workers, so there is really no excuse for that argument to buy American. Also, these foreign car-makers are PUBLIC companies.. anyone could buy their stock and get a piece of their profits. that's my rant

No joke... My dad works for Delta, and I cant beging to count the ways they've been screwing him... He's taken a 40% paycut, and his pension is now in question as well. It's not teh economy that's dying, it's the outdated business models. Most laborers don't realize that though.
