Help & tips for beginner mechs

This isn't enough to start a thread, I don't think, but as a retired mechanic/bodyman/ship's engineer I'd like to offer any help I can to young car enthusiasts/ shadetree mechs. Gas or diesel, you name it. If I can help, I will.

Neither. Dick Moroso used to ask for me, I've worked on the presidential yacht "Sequoia", custom rod shops, and been to more schools than Carter's got pills. If I can share this experience, whether through PM or this forum, I'd be happy to.
