Hmm, That sounds like it could be the problem. I usually give the filter plenty of time to dry out but this time I had some stuff I had to do so I just threw it back in and went on. I'll google the process of cleaning the sensor and give that a shot. Thanks

i have a 92 civic hatch with an LS swapped in... if the filter is good. check all the other lil things like the MAF, Filters, hoses, and make sure the injectors are seated good.. (that was an issue.. but most likly not for this).. but if that doesnt help.. it would probebly be a good idea to change the fuel pump as well.. seeing it being an 89.. if your not sure its been changed the best thought is say it hasnt..

^^ all this i had expereinced with my swapped 92 and the fuel pump issues with my 97 hatch a prelude swap (h22).. so if i was able to help kool.. if not im srry.. lol.. but you could always use railroad tracks to get where u need to go if all else fails

The problem with the railroad tracks is I've got to hijack a train every time I do it. And they are running out of people who can drive a train

Check the sponge your using to wash it or it could be the type of car shampoo your using, halfords has a 3 for 2 this now on cleaning products, try them.

Ok so it's not the mass air flow sensor...I dont have one. I'm not sure if the car comes stock with one or not but someone has put a cold air intake on it which means it wouldnt be there anymore.
