My first car forum post.

I need some feedback and help on a few items.

I was watching "Powerblock" the other day, 2 hour presentation on everything car and truck related, and on it, they were discussing polishing techniques and buffing. And, how to keep your polished parts alive. Which is important.

I have a set of these:

A set of Polished Alumin Mickey Thompson wheels.

I wanna keep them polished and looking good, year round. So, Im thinkgin about investing in some ZOOPS polish conditioner and reconditioner.

http://www.zoops.com/product-listing.asp?ID=15

Has anyone used ZOOPS before on aluminu??

What was the outcome?

Did you like it and did it last as long as it says, up to 2 years.??

Also, Im looking into a good polishing kit for my wheels.

Can anybody recommend a descent polishing kit?

Preferably a complete kit. Polishing wax, polishing heads and so forth.

And lastly, I want to polish up my truck, but first, I gotta get some scratches out of the clear coat first.

I've been googling water sanding and water buffing. Im stuck at a stand still.

Can someone hook me up on the aspects of water buffing and give me a link or a good book or some hints or something??

as always, 1000 credits to the member who helps out the most.

for deep scratches water sand, compound, then wax.

To make the paint nice use detailing clay... long tedious process.

ive used it on a set a wheels a while ago it cleaned them up real nice and stayed like that till i hit winter and the road salt got on it.... i think its worth the money. but if you have scratches in the rims you want out then id recommend polishing it.

Yeah, I have ordered the Zoops finish protector for the wheels.

Im fixing to order a polishing kit next week.

I'll see if I can get some pics when Im done. It'll be later on in the year before I do it.

Gotta let it warm up a bit outside.

dont waste money on wheel protectant, just slap some crisco on the wheels before winter. WD-40 works good too but tends to wash off easier
