it was an advert in the UK some time ago now... Believe it or not, but it was all actually done... No camera tricks.

How could that have actually been done, at the middle of the course, when the tires hit each other up the ramp. all four tires are going at the same speed up the ramp, that totally defies any form of gravity. But it was still cool as hell though.

I still think the best is the E39 BMW M5 ad where it is filming a land speed record. You see a vehicle powered by two jet engines screaming across the screen, and then it stops. The camera car stops too, and it pans out to be a BMW M5. Good stuff, and the impications are sick.
I do love that Honda video though; it's in the top 5 for all time best commercials period.

all that for a station wagon? seems like a good commercial wasted on a bad car.

bigboy,
I believe they attached something heavy from the car to the inside of each tire. The tire was then balanced with the weight at the very top of the tire when placed on the ramp. When bumped, the weight caused the tire to roll just about one half rotation. It was just enough of a roll to bump the next tire.
Very tricky, since the weight is inside the tire, and we can't see it.

Powerflux,
What makes you say it's computer animated? Where did you find that information?

Powerflux, its real, no animation... Weights were used for the tyres. There was a documentry on UK tv aboutit... They showed how the made it all work
It was filmed in stages, but everything that happened, did actually work. It was even showed at the movies... before some films a while back.
Heres a review, quote from the telegraph newspaper... "One of the more surprising things about the ad is that it was not a cheat. Although it would have been much easier to fiddle the chain of events by using computer graphics, the seesaw and shunt of events really did happen, and in one, clean take."
