A very similar crash happened in Pittsburgh back in the 90's!! The driver survived with a broken leg. How did this d00d do?

i live in michigan about 15 minutes away from where this happened ... the crash was actually caused by a 27 year old male driving 70mph on a pretty severe curve which has a posted speed of 55mph. The guy lost control of his car and slid into the tanker causing him to hit another semi truck. The tanker driver survived ... and everyone on I75 survived as well, there was a semi driver that pulled some miraculous maneuver to block all on coming traffic so they would not get involved in the explosion. The steel on the bridge was melted by about 60 percent ... this bridge by the way was totally rebuilt in 2008! i could see the smoke from my house! and with the freeway being closed now is really screwing up traffic EVERYWHERE!

holy shit is right! Damn, usually stuff like this does not turn out well, thankfully these people were ok. Always has to be caused by some ignorant fuck who thinks they can show off and not hurt themselves or anyone else. I had a friend whom I grew up with. He got his license before myself and another friend we met at a private high school. Anyway, we took a trip north of my house around the time when the OJ thing was going on and he was driving 75+MPH on a really short straightaway connecting two rotaries. He turned the corner in his mothers caravan and almost flipped us. Thought I was gonna die. He continued to drive like a maniac until his little brother almost died in a massive car wreck. He was always after the speed limit after that. Not sure where he is now or what he does, but just my 2 pennies.

happened last night around 8 p.m. ... there was 9500 gallons of regular gasoline... and 4400 gallons of diesel fuel in the tank ... i just read on m[blacklisted] that the 27 year old driver that started the crash had only had a secretary of state issued license since may of this year!!!

Wait, wait, I'm pretty sure in Michigan—at least—that you are required to have a special license for transporting hazardous material.

I live about ten miles away from there and the news told everyone to turn off the ac and keep your doors/windows closed so we don't get whatever poisoning from the fumes.

No wonder that abc news this morning said they have NO idea why this happened.
