A Girl, a Holden and a Mattress - true story!!!!

A girl ran over an innerspring mattress on the highway, and decided not to worry -- and kept on driving.
It caught on the undercarriage etc of her Holden.
The ensuing jumble finally whipped around enough to tear a hole in the fuel tank.
The subsequent lack of fuel is what finally brought her vehicle to its knees.
She had managed to drive 50 kms, with a 25kg tangle of “stuff” wrapped around her drive shaft.
She had it towed to her Holden dealership, and complained that the vehicle had a 'sort of a noise' when she was driving at high speeds.

They still can't believe their eyes, and still wondering how to remove It!

Unbelievable. It never ceases to amaze me how so many people can just drive around in cars which are amazing, complicated, dangerous pieces of machinery and give zero fucks about anything related to it other than when it needs gas.

I think those guys should unbolt the driveshaft and see if that mess will slide off.

Rather doubt they will be able to get the drive shaft separated from the differential enough to even attempt sliding the mess off. They may be able to separate the two portion of the drive shaft forward of the mess, but I am unacquainted with how the Holden drive shaft is actually set up (is it a single shaft with a carrier bearing or two shafts that are held together at the carrier bearing).

You guys are missing the point me thinks.
