hello all.owner of a 92 dodge dakota 2wd 5.2 auto.it has 220,000 miles on it motor hasn't been touched other than a waterpump after i hit a deer.body's great, paint was redone by diamler after a goodwill policy.problem is the transmission.i replaced the first one at 140,000 miles and the second at 165,00 miles and the third at 185,000 miles.all of em were junkyard tranys, all i did was flush, refilter pad and replace with new fluid.last year it went out again after losing 5th gear 2 weeks before in my wrangler.agravated i replaced the wrangler tranny while dodge dealership did the work on the dakota.they said the case was unusable so i bought a junkyard trany for $700 and took it straight to them with$100 to rebuild and install it.12 month 12,00 mile warrenty.guess what11 months and 20,000 miles later it shit that one out.i love this truck, nothing wrong with cept it won't hold a tranny.any one else have these problems with dodge or any one hear of better soulutions?(better rebuild kits, conversion to a 5 spd.)repies and private messages welcome.
