it was the high end one (i think the touring?), whatever the highest end one with the spoiler is. i'm taking it in to the mechanic this AM to see what it's all about. hopefully the damages (monetarily) won't be that bad.

i'd wanna choke a bitch if someone hit me, thankfully to date the only wrecks i've been in have all been my fault

well...sometimes life suuuuucks.

i was driving my car to the mechanic's shop when WHAM my hood flew up and stayed up over my windshield. let me tell you that was hard to pull over. i then had to drive back home at the painfully slow speed of...no miles per hour, now im waiting for the tow truck to come and take myself and my car to the shop...

::really heavy sigh::

Well Shit that really sucks - I once had wreck in a city I was living in at the time (for business) and rear ended some kids and when I got out to check on them they all scattered. I think most were drunk and under age. I couldn't stop on the ice as I wasn't used to driving in winter conditions. Wrecking a 350Z must really suck. Hope it works out for you.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you are going to need to report this to the CA DMV within 10 days. You need to go to a CHP office or a local police station to get that form. On it there is going to be a section that asks for very specific insurance information. If this is not done properly, or if you do have insurance at all your license will be suspended.

That seriously sucks dude, I do know exactly how you feel though (check out my name, I have a history of this)

I have to agree with bigdic,

if you are gonna need to get a new hood, or even if not, maybe you should consider getting something that grabs people's attention better, like say

are you in cali? i'm assuming you are by your vast knowledge on the subject. so let me get this straight, even though the cops came and filled out a report, and i presented them with my insurance card (i had insurance but i couldn't afford it so i ended up just not paying it, so the card went over ok with them...i still have to do this thing with the police? even though they filled out a report?

regarding your last sentence about the license being suspended. does that mean that if i didnt have insurance at the time of the crash my license can be suspended? because i have insurance now, i got it the day after my crash, like the very next morning...

i have the feeling im so screwed.

to tell you the truth most insurance companies will keep you in the books for as long as your policy is fors but if you miss payments they may fine you extra "late fees" so it is all together possible that you were still insured... Im with State Farm and this month noticed they had stopped withdrawing money from my bank account from all the way back in Jan. I thought i was driving without insurnce for 3 months. Turns out they they insuring me but hadnt taken the money out.... Kinda pissed me off and i told them that and i didnt get fined extra.

Yup i'm in Cali (but I've crashed in several states)
If the police made report on scene (was it CHP or local?) you should not have to fill out the police report form. This gets filed at the hall of records in the city where the accident occurred, unless it happened on a freeway or in an unincorporated town, in that case CHP owns it. That report is basically for insurance purposes, if they have a question regarding the accident they will look at this form for info. If your insurance doesn't need to look at to give you the claim your ok (this just happened to me 4 weeks ago I never filled out the police paperwork because my Ins Co paid the claim wiothout asking any info) The DMV report is the one you have to file. You can get this report at the DMV, your local police station, or your regional CHP office, you have to send this out within 10 days of the accident. If you don't they will eventually come after your ass for this. If you have insurance now you should have no problem filling out that report, just use your current insurance info and you should be straight. Good luck bro!

im confused. how do they expect people to know all this crap? geeze. it's been more than ten days and it's going to be a BUTTLOAD of money to fix my car...it'll be in the shop for 10 weeks. anyone got recommendations for mountain bikes? might need to invest in one.
