350Z crash

I have an '04 Z which I got in a wreck in tonight...

Takin' a left to go to subway when some chick came out of nowhere and i t-boned her. i was going like 10 mph and she was going about 40 or 50, so her car spun out across 4 lanes of traffic and hit another parked car.

total bummer...the worst part is, i couldn't drive to go get myself alcohol to drink this all away. i've been sittin here ruminating over it and figured maybe i'd find some brand of sympathy on here.

anyone have an idea of what it costs to replace the front bumper of a Z?

i would buy an tuning part.. so the look is better, i think you have to pay around 350-450€ for the bumber and 200-300€ or painting. (thats only if only the bumber is damaged... is something else crashed it gets much more expensive)

regrettably, no, i haven't lived here in CA long enough to know any mechanic-type friends. Also, I'm not so sure that it's as simple as putting just a new bumper on. I think there may be some structural damage to the front end of the chassis. The good news is that I think the hood is still in tact and I KNOW the engine didn't get touched.

so...it's looking like I'm stuck getting it professionaly fixed, I'm taking it in to the shop today to get an estimate on how much it will cost

wow i acnt believe that CA would allow you to get a plate without insurance..... unless you just have the minimum liability(hmmmm)

i had insurance. then i couldn't afford to pay for the last 2 months of my policy (which would have ended at the end of next month anyway), so i just straight up didn't pay it. therefore i'm assuming that i don't have actual insurance, while at the time i got my plates and stuff i did...

In the netherlands you must be insured, but that is for wreking somebody elses car or anything else in that matter. If you got a expensive car you can better insure it good, because if you wreck it it costs a lot

yeah that's what i'm afraid of...i'm hoping it'll be less than 10 grand to get my car fixed, because any more than that and i'm up shit creek. and also the other girl involved in the accident hopefully won't be a ho about her end of things.

on a related side note, does anyone here have any knowledge of law here in the states?

Sorry to hear about your accident ForcedOrgasm. the 350z is an amazing car. Which model do you have? I'm pretty new to CA also. How did you and the other driver handle the situation? Was there a police report involved? I can't remember CA minimum insurance requirements at the moment but I'll see what I can dig up.

Hope your car gets fixed soon.
