And for the record the standard stop light goes from left to right not up and down, I've seen many merry-go-rounds turn clockwise and as a small piece of trivia, water doesn't drain counter clockwise south of the equator.

And 10 is a trick question: water goes down in the direction based on placement of the spigot over the drain and of the design of the bowl. The myth that it is decided upon by hemisphere is just that, a myth. There isn't enough curvature at play to dictate all bowls everywhere. If the water enters the bowl with force from the left, it'll go one way. An identically shaped bowl, but with water jetting from the right would go the other.

This is only true in regards to synoptic-scale conditions, not in just your bathroom. For example: would it be less so at 1 degree north or south? Or how about on the equator?
