Just a few riddles to keep your brains ticking over... I'll post the answers later
Oh and if ya already know the answers don't spoil it huh? Cheers

1. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it? It looks so plain you would think nothing was wrong with it! In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out! Try to do so without any coaching!

2.What falls but never breaks?
What breaks but never falls?

3. In olden days you are a clever thief charged with treason against the king and sentenced to death. But the king decided to be a little lenient and lets you choose your own way to die. What way should you choose? Remember, you're clever!

4. You are at a river. With you are a Chicken, Bag of Grain, and a Wolf.
You have to cross the river in your canoe but can only take one with you at a time.
You can't leave the chicken with the grain. He'll eat it.
You can't leave the wolf with the chicken. He'll eat it.
How do you get everything over and intact?

5. If a farmer met a farmer in a farmer's field, how many F's are in that?

6. A horse travels a certain distance each day. Strangely enough, two of its legs travel 30
miles each day and the other two legs travel nearly 31 miles. It would seem that two of the horse's legs must be one mile ahead of the other two legs, but of course this can't be true. Since the horse is normal, how is this situation possible?

Lets have ya solutions then

ermmmm... to answer would be to spoil it!

However I do know the answer to numbers 1, 4 and 5 (I think)

To add to the sense of mystery here's a couple of my own

1. A plane crashes directly on the border between the US and Canada. Where do you bury the survivors?

2. 2 people are looking at a painting. The painting is of a man. Another man comes up and overhears the two saying 'nice painting. I wonder who it is?'
The man replies 'Brothers and sisters have I none', then pointing at the painting 'but that mans father is my fathers son'. Who is the person in the painting?

3. A woman is at a T junction. In front of her are two identical guardians with big swords. A voice booms out 'one path leads to death, the other to safety. You may ask one guardian one question, and one question alone to find out which path is the safe path.
One guardian always lies and the other always speaks the truth. To ask the wrong question will result in the guardians killing you. To say nothing will result in the guardians killing you'.
What should you ask?

4. A father and son are driving in a car. There is a terrible car crash and the father is killed. The son is rushed to hospital and as he is placed on the operating table the surgeon cries out 'I can't operate on him, he's my son!' How is this possible.

1. Breakdown

-->This is an unusual paragraph.

A bit passive, "this" is complemented at the end of the sentence...the sentence should be: "This paragraph is unusual."

-->I'm curious [to see] how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it?

Not a question...a sentence about one's level of curiosity, or the focus of one's curiosity, leads to a statement.

-->It looks so plain [that] you would think nothing was wrong with it!

"nothing [is] wrong" ... change in tense.

-->In fact, nothing is wrong with it!

lol Perfect sentence.

-->It is unusual though.

"It" is not explicitly defined. Is "it" referencing the nature of the paragraph, or a conflict between two sentiments about the paragraph?

-->Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd.

Run-on sentence. Also, the first part of the run-on is imperative, while the second part is derogatory. Try:
"Even though you can study it and think about it, you still may not find anything odd."

-->But if you work at it a bit, you might find out!

NEVER start a "sentence" with "but." And what will I find out?

-->Try to do so without any coaching!

Since the "do so" references what I might find out, I have no idea what I'm doing.

2. Day and Night. (Day Break & Night Fall)

3. To die of old age.

4. Take the chicken over first and leave it on the other side.  Next, take the wolf across and leave him, but bring the chicken back with you.  Next trip, leave the chicken where you started and take the grain across with the wolf.  Finally, go back and get the chicken.

5. There are no Fs in "that".

6. The horse operates a mill and travels in a circular clockwise direction. The two outside legs will travel a greater distance than the two inside legs.

C'mon Wattz try and stump me.

*********************SPOILERS*********************

The answers......

1. You do not bury survivors.

2. Let man A = the guy speaking, man B = the guy in the painting.
When man A says he has no brothers or sisters, and that man B's father is man A's fathers son, 'his fathers son' must be man A himself. Therefore, the statement 'that mans father is my fathers son' now reads 'that man's father is me'. Therefore man B is man A's son.

Put very simply, the guy in the painting is his son!

3. She should ask one of the guardians 'If I was to ask the other guardian which is the safe path, what would he say?'. She then should go down the opposite path to the answer given.
The reason?
If she spoke to the Truth Guardian, he would say the wrong path, as the False Guardian would give the wrong answer.
If she spoke to the False Guardian, he would also say the wrong path, as he would give the opposite answer to what the Truth guardian would say.
Therefore, whoever she spoke to would give the wrong answer, and she should go down the other path.

4. The surgeon is his mother.

I hope people understand my explanations and enjoyed the riddles.
