Hmmm, i've seen a arguing between Fefe, Brownell and Sails in the WTG forum lately and wondered for myself what has happened to this forum. So i did a little research and here are my results:

Out of 45 threads

...13 (28%) were locked because of a rule violation.

... 4 (8%) Topic starters had more then 100 posts

... 6 (13%) Topic starters sayed thanks for helping them to find something about their request

... 3 (6%) Names of the posted girls were found

... 8 (17%) threads returned a result with less then 10 pics of the girl to be found

... 4 (8%) threads returned a result with more then 10 pics of the girl to be found

Regarding these numbers, isnt this forum rather uneffective and causes more trouble then it does good?

Whats your opinion on this?

(Spare me the discussion about leeches and requesters that give nothing back. There is no need for it)

Thanks for that info! It actually took me a couple of seconds to figure that out

How did you get all that numbers? Is there a statistics server coming with WBW?

I don't really no. I just told a n00b to at least give as some time to see his thread and think about it (he got desperate after only 20 mins ). And in general, these threads are pretty useless since someone just posts a random pic from the gallery (often even without a face!).

But I really enjoy it when someone comes up with an answer like "oh yes, sure, she's so and so. There's a dozen more pics; I'll just post them", even though all he / she has seen is a tummy or something.

I'd keep them, but I'm not a Mod, so I'm not the one that really needs to bother with them...

I calculated this on my own going through 45 threads. i wanted to do this for all threads in the last 30 days but got bored after 45

I still think it shows a pretty good summary of what is going in this subforum and i'd like to see what others think about it.

Piro has one hell of a job to do there as the other 2 mods rarely show up. It seems though that he likes what he does there.

Oh and for the first to say: If you dont like what you see there, go somehwere else... i have this for you: I am trying to think of ways to make this site more friendly and how to attract more sponsor members to this page. The only real anger and hatred is going on in this subforum.

I think that it is a nice service to have for them members who are a part of the comunity, not something to be miss used by somebody who just comes surfing in thinking that this is porn google.
I think that it would be better if it wasn't possible to make a thread in the WTG? forum unless you had like 100 post, just as the grey/black-list system. Make it something you would hve to earn your way into.

I see your point, j0lly, but it goes with the territory. Someone is looking for a specific girl. If it's someone like Teen Kelly or something, should we post her entire site rip or are one or two pics for confirmation good enough?

Besides, if you whack it, what good will it do? They'll still always want to know who a girl is and they'll just post something else.

What I do think you did that's good, is call attention to the fact that we're all here together for a common interest, and that we don't always go out of our way to say thanks or help our peers like we should.

Perhaps if we spent a little more time taking a little better care of each other, the "mood" would be better in that forum, and thus the problems would seem much smaller.

It's a good call out. I'm as guilty as anyone. I spend more time bashing the fucktards than I do trying to help find a girl I vaguely remember seeing someplace. I, like many of us, should try to remember that we're all here for a common purpose and that we're more alike than different.

I'll try to spend more time helping and less time bashing as a result of this thread, for a while at least. I hope others do the same, and maybe that's the best you can expect as a result from this conversation.

It's not a bad goal, really.

That's actually a brilliant idea in my opinion.

Make it a greylist typed thing... Gotta have given in order to get.

I like it. Nice one, Sails!

I am a fan of this.

OH... I thought you meant: "Wheels That Glisten" a part of car threads inc. Nice statistical work up though.

I believe that forum is for requesting the name or more pics of a particular girl, so it's done in one place instead of having requests made in all the different forums. If everyone here would help, the success rate would be over the top, but not everyone has that interest, that's certainly their option. I don't know why certain members feel the need to insult and belittle members with low post counts, especially if those requests are made in the proper forum and within the rules.

You can't stop newbie posts or request posts, the best you can do is make a conspicuous place for them to post where they can either be helped, or easily ignored at the discretion of the other members. I believe that's why that forum was created, and that's what it should be used for, not a feeding ground for newbie bashers.

To address the question specifically, the only "trouble" this forum causes is due to members who purposely disrupt the threads by posting condesending comments. Members that don't want to deal with newbie request are under no obligation to even view their posts.

What you say is very right and fair, Brownell. It really is.

In the grand scheme of things, you're right.

As Sails pointed out in another thread though, most of the newbs that get bashed... Well they stay newbs. It's not like they grow into becoming some integral fixture of the site. They're here for their porn fix and bolt. To be honest, I agree with Sails' assessment that they kind of use us as "Porn Google" or to put it more bluntly - their bitches.

I'd also point out that if the responses of the crew towards regular users are as harsh or more harsh than a regular user's response to some random noob who isn't long for this site anyway, then it too has the same (or probably greater) negative impact than the noob bashing does.

Can't call someone else out without calling out their leadership and examples too, right?

This of course, does not discount the fundamental points you made, Brownell, which again I agree are right and fair. They're even noble if such a thing exists on a site devoted to cum-drenched hotties.

Let me offer this though; Sails is right. Most of them don't come back. Most of them are one-shot wonders and if anything, take more than their presence gives.

So what's wrong with having some fun with them? Some of the most hillarious threads I have ever read on any message board have been here, in response to some idiocy in the WTG category.

I mean it's purely for my own amusement, but some of these guys are fucking funny! There were three or four threads last night at 2 AM MST that had me fucking ROLLING!

Once in a while, it's okay to vent, no? And some of that shit gets so damned funny that the newbs forgive it in the end and actually become more interested in the community (that's exactly what happened to me once upon a time to be honest - it's why I started posting instead of just leeching the pics).

So there's something to be said for the comradere that is gained through such... "Hazings" too, don't you agree? At times it's a way for the community to bond - and if taken in the good and playful spirit it's intended, "one of them" can quickly become "one of us."

Just as I did.

Do you see any validity to my points, Brownell?

So if you get a member with the title of 'newbie' thats been here since say 2004 with a post count of 5, 4 of which are request, you still think they are gonna grow up to be productive members of this site? I'm voting no.

Exactly! Leeching over 2 years, of course he's going to buy sponsor membership or contribute! No, this is just a free fucking tv-shop for them.

I think people who registered here, requested stuff, and didn't bother to create introducing thread, they can fuck off. It's not a big deal to introduce yourself to the community, that is the way we get to know you. Now most of these people just come here to demand stuff.

Well, the bashing used to be more funnier couple years ago, when n00bs knew/learned their place. Nowadays it's useless to bash n00bs because there's nobody to back you up. The community has died long time ago.

Wery good point. Know for a fact that it is a reason for some members stop being active and contribute or thinking about it!
Sometimes you get the fealing that some Mods care more about the Mods and hide behind the rules, instead of caring about the site and suporting its contributing members.

I feel that my opinion on this subject means squat.

I don't care much for the bashing no matter if its directed toward a new member, or someone that has been around for a couple of years.

If you don't want to help someone then don't, just use your mouse and click on another topic that is of interest to you.

On topic: Keep the subforum for what it is there for, if you don't like that forum stay out of it.
