Where is my messages?

So when I go to my messages I can’t do anything and all my past conversations with other members are gone. I really needed them still because I was in contact with a mod about some issues I had with a big upload all being rejected after waiting for nearly a month for them to post... but anyway my issue is I can’t recall his username now and have no way of contacting him and letting him know that I done as he asked and that my photos are ready for him to take another look at them instead of another random mod that doesn’t know the past history on this upload... Anyone know how I can correct this or what’s going on with the messages?

Have you thought about punctuation?

Private messages get automatically deleted after 30 days. We have added this limitation to keep the database fast and clean. I could always higher this amount. The private message system, really needs some extra fixes and features. For now this doesn't have priority for me, as I want the site to run smooth and add features to make it easier to find content.
