What the....?

This afternoon I signed on to check and see what pics had been cleared and I had 817 in the queue. Now, a few hours later I check back and find that over 200 pics -- the queue's at 566 now -- have been deleted and not approved. Did we have another server error? I am usually pretty careful about the pics I uppload & have had very few deleted I think, so I was surprised to see that many just disappear.

I lost 8 pics the same way. Course, that's nothing compared to yours

I don't mind 'em being rejected for reasonable reasons, but it's hard to believe that over 200 pics could have been gone through without any being approved, ya know?

ive tried numerous photos, some i KNOW are impossibly doubles and still i never get approved lol

Hey Zarq - funny, I was meaning to pm you on the very same issue earlier today!

I uploaded 5mb worth that I hand sifted and the number pending keeeeeeps dropping, and never a single one appro'd. It kinda makes your heart sink. It's the main reason I prefer to post pics on the Forum!

Oh yes - the other thing was, as soon as my upload comleted I got a messge saying
"9 images already in database" or similar and "three images unsuitable"

What goes on crew?

I'm just finding it rather annoying, and now I just watched another 200 pics get trashed outta the queue. That's 600 pics that've disappeared. Up until the last few days hardly any of my pics were being removed. Now they're disappearing in big quantities. Would a picmod who knows why I'm losing so many pics outta my queue please explain?

Hey Cap'n. Well, "images in the database" are self-explanatory. Somebody upped em b4 ya. "Unsuitable" could mean a buncha things. Did you post nuns or something?

I assume that if they have an extension that isn't 'jpg' they will be rejected.

The thing is Zarq, this message appeared INSTANTLY after the upload completed, so it could only have been automated. This begs the question, did my pics get rejected because they had the same file name as an existing queued or uploaded pic? I can well imagine loads of different pics being uploaded every day with file names like "wow" or "hottie" or "12" or something, so perhaps a lot are being tossed needlessly by the computer and not by picmods. That's the only reason I can see for the message I got.
